Arcane (Netflix series)

Watched the first 2 eps of s1 after my son recommended it. Can't say I'm hooked yet, and as mentioned the musical choices weirdly stood out to me on occasion.

I'll probably still watch it all though: D

Goosebumps at times, if they finish this off with the same perfection as the first season. I'll rate this the best animation I've seen for many many years!

Every episode just pulls you in! LOVE IT

Aye. I thought I'd posted when I originally saw S1 but I guess not. Never heard of the series or League of Heroes or Nations or whatever it is but instead instantly thought "wow, it's Dishonoured"! I rarely watch cartoon style series but the animation style, quality and voice acting were outstanding. Looking forward to this!

Watched all three tonight with a friend. Utterly amazing. The differing animation styles are used so well, absolutely adored the black and white style on the funeral in the first episode.

One thing that struck me with this is that with most other anime, they would cut corners in a lot of the more low key scenes, the in between frames, the "down time", and then put more detail, attention, man power, resources and money into the key scenes, usually fighting. With this, every frame has been done to its best and every frame feels like it could be a painting.

I'm not sure how I feel about the music in a lot of the action scenes so far. It's feels a bit overdone - like a "must get obligatory music video into the episode" type feeling.

It's like an RGB light or RGB strip that you normally stick behind your TV or off to the side, and it can "react" to whatever's on your TV, so that the colours of what's on screen kind of "bleed" out to your surroundings.

I have a Govee myself that I bought completely on a whim. While I do agree it's particularly good for animations (Akira is another good one), there is a split second lag as the camera or whatever "reads" what's on screen and then reacts, which is a bit offputting. The novelty wore off for me pretty quick and I haven't used mine in literally like a year...

Oh, my Philips OLED has it built in. I am so used to it now.
