ArcheAge, Ultima Online's rebirth?

I downloaded this and it wouldn't load got stuck on the green desktop archeage writing thing and had to uninstall because it would cause other programs to open really slow, was strange. Will try again in a week or two after its died down abit.
I have lost my patron status thought it was strange this morning when I logged in and had no labour points.

That's too do with your anti-virus (probably Microsoft security essentials) trying to scan the 24gb file before it allows it to open.
Well I think the best bet for getting ingame is to just leave yourself logged in and on the character select screen. I had to nip out and run a quick errand for work (grrr) and could could simply load straight back into the server/game when I got back.

Eek, as a long term Aion guy also, how do you reckon this compares? Are the sieges better and mostly importantly how is pvp combat (if you've done that yet)? That was the most enjoyable aspect in Aion for me, the nuances in combat which would give you an edge, oh that, and the combo system was great.
I couldn't comment on the PvP or siege aspect as I've not sampled them as of yet. So far the gameplay does feel like a diluted Aion and graphically it actually looks more dated. The videos I've seen of the small skirmish open world PvP look fun but until everyone is geared and at cap it's too hard to judge.
I'm casually leveling up a stealthy pewpew assassin type class on Melisara, I really don't know enough about the game and it's mechanics yet but it's 'free to queue'.. free to play oops! so can't complain too much.

yup sometimes this happens to me I just open MSE and disable live protection and renable it instantly, launch archeage no problem.
I think it's the hackshield crap causing issues
Got my thatched farmhouse built and surrounded by turkeys
about 50 of them , need to chop some trees on my large farm plot then fill it with yaks and turkeys OH BTW GUYS!
on kyprosa the apex were flooded in the auction house and selling for 40gold, I just checked and theres only 9 left and they are 68-75gold so surely soon they ill fly up in price since demand clearly isn't going to be met
The same thing will probably happen with tax certificates too once they need renewing

How do I get into the ocuk guild on dahuta server guys? I'm finally in, really enjoying it but bored of fetch/kill quests now, I'm at lvl 9 lol
When was the last time you tried Aion? I remembered it looking great at launch until i tried it again last year and thought it looked awful.
Visually (so far) my only problems with this game are FOV and everyone's characters seem a bit too small.
lol good luck with that. Current queue position after I gave up waiting earlier is now 3427. I reckon that's the best part of 6 hours. I don't leave my pc turned on unless I'm on it as it's just costing me in electric.
Just checked to see if Patron made a difference to the queue and it put me in at 1647 which isn't bad. On Dahuta.
Edit - 45mins later and i'm only at 1227, either patron is a placebo or the queue has slowed waaay down since yesterday.

Strange game, I was on the char select screen and meant to click options but accidentally hit server select which promptly moves you to the server list selection !! On trying to rejoin the server I was greeted by being 4494th in the queue !!!
Thought, sod it exit game and launcher I'll go do some housework type stuff. Then it occurred to me I'd have to wait at least an hour or two to re-join later on! so booted up the launcher clicked on the server and immediately got ingame !!! not complaining, oh no

Actually wanting to try this game, in an attempt to log in, I purchased patron status. Should this help me to jump some of the queue? If so, it's not working.
