Today I learned that my wife's friend buys clothes in charity places at £1 and then sells them on Ebay at £10 a piece. All of the sudden these a-holes buying a bunch of 3080s dont seem so bad lol

More salt in these forums than the salt pillar Sodom and Gomorrah. Sit back, have a cuppa, if you get an email to say it's dispatched then cool, if not, cancel and re-order when things settle down. Easy enough isnt it? I can't imagine something that I'd be this desperate for.

Should be ashamed really, I hate companies taking advantage of consumers

People just need to be patient and wait if they don't want to be fleeced. if everyone just took a step back and waited a few weeks, the prices would not have been put up.

As consumers, we are our own worst enemy.

Check the review, they said it's quieter under the same conditions.

You saying the MSI Trio will get quieter later on?

Maybe it will, it's more expensive after all, and the Asus card has a right cheek being a better cooler when it's cheaper.

kITGURU review says one of the quietest cards they have ever tested.

Hi. So i just ordered an Asus rog strix 3080oc. If i understand this post well this card is not avaible at the moment and i will get it as soon as it became avaible and evry people who have orderer it before me get theirs ? And there is no way to have ETA at this time even approximately ? ty :)

Imagine joining the forum just to type that out.

I wouldn't be in a hurry if i didn't want to offload my 1080ti auros while I can still get £300-ish notes for it. I would have to upgrade eventually and my card's price will depreciate faster than new cards prices will come down.

Technically it's a business expense since i make CG visuals for live events, but as you can imagine the live events industry isn't exactly flying right now.

Same here. I just don't buy as I know they will come down once the early adopters are out of the way.

Exactly. I bought a 5700XT at launch but I was clear what I wanted to pay and if prices had gone silly I would not have bought. As it was the prices varied wildly so I bought from somewhere selling at MSRP.

Mine changed to 'Order Received - not yet shipped' this morning and I have had no email at all since 15:00 yesterday..

Also, I know OCUK are frowned upon for price changes, but in the grand scheme, I think they are not as bad as some, but still a little bit guilty:

This sums things up:

B*x has put up all their prices by over £100 to £150, it happened around 11:30am today. So the Nvidia site is wrong. Cheapest card is £789.99 now. The Palit now costs £799.99

I was going to get a 3080 for £650 (founders edition) yesterday. Now that I've seen this is a paper launch, I don't believe Nvidia intends to stock the hundreds of thousands of 3080 FE's they'd need to satisfy demand. FE cooler is $150, so Nvdia can't make their usual large margin on these cards, it's clear they were just created to get great press reviews (which they did, take a lesson AMD!).

Max I'll pay for a 3080 is £650. Since I won't be able to get a FE for that much, and the only AIB cards I like are £850+, it makes more sense for me to try get a 3090 FE. At least there'll be less people with £1400 to spend, and Nvidia will probably produce more of them, since the margin on the 3090's will be their usual huge sum. The bill of materials between the 3080 and 3090 isn't that great, mostly just the extra memory and memory bus.
