Jeez cmon... they have got the stock already . Scarce = higher prices and before AMD launch Navi BOOM ... thousands of 3070's 3080's and 3090's available ... makes sense to hold back anyways
for the Super and TI versions of these cards which will surely come soon afterwards . Isnt there talk alreay of these cards somewhere with the 'S' series on utube.. EDIT https://videocardz.com/newz/gigabyte-confirms-geforce-rtx-3060-8gb-rtx-3070-16gb-and-rtx-3080-20gb
... anyway after looking at some of the reviews im so tempted to just grab a couple cheap as chips 2080 TI cards for a year and get my moneys worth as its for a new system and im happy to hold on to old one for now ( 980 Asus ROG .. :] )
Just my thoughts .. im easily led tho.

Ordered an EVGA 3080 through OCUK yesterday. Should I cancel my order? Doesnt look like they are getting stock any time soon? Really frustrated that ordering was even an option. Doesn't seem to be possible today...

Yeah only joking, I'm hoping to pick up a PS5 once the dust has settled.

Ill get an xbox.
It's a shame you can get a whole console now for price of a gpu.

I expected at least a little price difference. Not the console to be significantly cheaper

I use my controller on pc too.

The original prices on the site were a farce, its that simple, I as a purchasing manager myself I would have started the prices off as they are now, which are competitive compared to other e-tailers, rather than create the illusion of cheaper pricing, now I understand the tactic, but is was poor one, and arguably an unethical one at that. The interest in these cards were off the charts, they didn't need to play the 'cheapest launch price card' and end upsetting whole swathes of their own customers, it should never be about about making larger short term profits, company reputation is important, every single one of my customers is treated as a potential long term contract, and trust is a key element of maintaining that contract.
Did you manage to get refunded the difference?

You are perfectly correct. It is not illegal but neither is it ethical though as you have experienced, the two are not always mutually inclusive.

Can you imagine how Gibbo would feel when he went to buy his Ferrari that a minute after agreeing to do so they put another £10,000 on it?

Justifying it, is what people with money and power do so that they can sleep at night... "We wrote in a forum post prior that we would hike the price mid purchase, it's not our fault that you didn't see if but because we said we were going to do it and gave 'reasons' why then that makes it OK."

When it comes to money and lining their pockets unethically at somebody else's expense, this is the similar mindset that people have been using for generations; it is not illegal and it's just business. A similar mindset used to justify slavery etc.

Gibbo correctly stated that some of their competitors were doing the same thing. It was the same kind of thing the British said when they got into slavery, "Well the Portuguese are doing it and they are our rivals and making money from it so it would be remiss of us not to do it as well"

We all know that it is simply unethical for the price to go up during the seconds between agreeing to purchase and putting in your payment details but it will not change unless the behaviour is publicised and highlighted and pressure put on those profiting from it.

Anyone else order status changes from “ new order awaiting payment”

To “ order received not yet shipped”, but has not had a confirmation email still?

Same here. What concerns me, is that when I placed my order the card was listed as being "Due in 18th Sept".. but does that mean my order is part of that allocation, or is there a chance that despite there being stock for those on that day (today) it could still be months before my order is fulfilled ? The funds have been debited from my account (not just reserved)

I'd like to have an estimated delivery date.

Alphacool's website says "coming soon" though, at least for the Gaming OC
https://www.hwconfig.com/waterblock-finder

The concern I have there is they probably put that up before knowing how the board was made and subject to them assessing demand, they might not end up making a block compatible with that board.

I got an oddbal MSI once and no waterblock manufacturer ever made a compatiable waterblock for it,.

Its a nightmare for the block makers this time as very few manufacturers have ended up using the reference board for their cards. I got an email from EK yesterday saying they had binned their entire range of waterblocks as they didnt fit the cards the AIBs had launched and they were on making new blocks withe xpected delivery in October but there was only about 10 cards on the list so far.

Mines the same, was 23rd Sept last night. Looked again this morning and it's just pre-order if its going to be longer than a week or two I'm going to cancel and see what AMD throw out.

Same here, Order received - not yet shipped

I ordered two different cards, but want to ensure I get one before cancelling the other one, as there has not been any confirmation of date it will be shipped, one said it was available 18th, the other card was showing ETA 21th Sept.

I just want to ensure I get one as I am upgrading from a GTX670!!

I have also noticed other cards now showing ETA October 30th, so am reluctant to cancel any order until I have one in my hand. I am awaiting to speak to someone on the phone but have been on hold almost 40minutes!!!

May as well hang up, you won't get an answer. Leave them sort the orders out and wait for Gibbo's update later on today or tomorrow.

Well when I ordered yesterday the page said expected on 18th Sept, while a lot of others were later dates.
I got in, but I'm not really sure if getting in before the page was updated to "Pre order" really means anything. Would be nice to know if my order was backordered or if I managed to get hold of one. It's also gonna be kinda annoying to have the money taken away if in case I have to wait several weeks cause then I can't immediately order elsewhere in case I somehow see a stock somewhere and want to get it.

Someone posted a notice from a large German competitors website:
ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 3080 Trinity" Due to a technical error, the delivery date 19 September 2020 is or was indicated to you in your order of the graphics card. Unfortunately, due to delivery bottlenecks, it is not possible to deliver the item by this date. We will send you updated shipping information by e-mail as soon as we have it.

And another one from a Dutch Nvidia retail partner:
About 800 customers have managed to order an RTX 3080 yesterday between 3 and 3:30PM. We will be a able to ship a small part of these cards, but not nearly all of them. NVIDIA has indicated it is unlikely that this amount of orders can be shipped in mere months.

Expected deliveries:

18-9: Expecting a few Inno3D RTX 3080 cards

21-9: Expecting a few ASUS RTX 3080 cards

21-9: Expecting a few GIGABYTE RTX 3080 cards

22-0: Expecting a few GIGABYTE RTX 3080 cards

This does not exclude the possibility of more cards being shipped to us - we'll keep you updated.

Not that it'll be the same for OcUK, but may give a bit of perspective
