Should be first come first served unless some for some technical reason I am unaware of, I'd contact CS on that. As all the Zotac we had have shipped out, but I can say in the first five minutes of going live we sold thousands of cards across the range, way way way beyond any expectations, there was several orders per second trying to come down, even as much as hundreds per second, demand was so high.
sorry I don't believe maybe bots did it

Why would we not know, NVIDIA and graphics cards manufacturers never stated this would be limited, they just said short supply but supply will come.

Also even if we had set a limit order in place, due to the fact our site slowed down, it would have never removed the ability to buy product in good time so no matter what, we would have still sold too many, but back to what I said this is not a limited product or not that we are aware, so just like any other big launch, thinking back to GTX 970 supply will ramp up and orders will be fulfilled it just takes time and people have to be patient.
Good point :) What about an indication of queue position when data has been collated?

Our system sets a pre-order date based on a delivery arriving, unfortunately it does not take into account quantity ordered, or quantity sold.

We have now made the decision to kill the ETA system, MSI cards did arrive today as per the website, but the amount was way smaller than the amount ordered, MSI are aware that we have pre-sold several thousand of their cards, so they know to get making the cards to meet the orders.

Serious question - So since this has been a complete and utter own goal, I'm guessing for the 3070/3090 as well as BigNavi launches you're going to take some of the comments onboard and actually use a proper queuing system like every other major retailer does, such as Queue-IT? Or is it going to be another farcical event where the site crashes as your IT team (who undoubtedly are working their proverbial(s) off trying to keep the site online) won't put in a fair and acceptable way of doing things - instead letting the whole thing keel over

wow

It's just a graphics card, it's not going to change your world, it's not going to ruin your life if you don't get it for another 2-4 weeks. Relax.

This is a bit off tbh - you've taken what, hundreds of 1000s of £ off people that you're sitting on no doubt and we have to wait til November?! My word, what a mess! Sorely tempted to cancel!

We apologise, but seriously do you think we want this mess, we want graphics manufacturers to be delivering these cards in the thousands to us, this is a big launch and there is always some delay with big demand launches, so we just have to hope, pray, cross our fingers that NVIDIA and the graphics card manufacturers have good supply incoming in the later months and will meet the demand.

We absolutely want to ship your orders, we want to ship all the orders and have no shortage, we knew demand was going to be strong as did everyone, but the demand is beyond expectations and the supply at the moment is looking small, so we are hopeful it will considerably improve, but it is really over to the graphics card manufacturers now to deal with our demand and orders, they and NVIDIA are fully aware of the numbers sold and we offer the ability to easily cancel the order if the customer wishes.

He has said many times Nvidia won’t allow numbers to be released. Not sure why but constantly asking won’t change this. I’m sure he would if he could.
No I definitely wanted to sell it. The price of my card has gone down 35% on places like eBay so the sell was great, just a shame that Nvidia had issues with bots on the launch date...
Why do people keep blaming bots? The only people I know that got an FE card including all of the ones on the auction site were ordered around 4pm.

@Gibbo would you be able to release a list of quants for the current orders of the different models? give people the option to cancel? (not that i will be, i'm not expecting the Aorus Xtreme for a few months yet :D

I ordered an MSI Ventus at 16:53 yesterday, by the looks of this thread I'm looking at a late November/December delivery date which isn't too terrible. I encourage anyone who is unsatisfied by a wait this long to cancel so I can move up the queue ;)

Why was my payment processed and complete when the item isn't in stock? I literally got my money stolen. Safe to say I will never be using overclockers again.

@Gibbo Can you not make a new thread with the information on the 3080 with only you and staff posting and lock it out and pin it at the top of the forum graphic card section so people are not looking through pages of pages of moaning from new accounts etc.

Just had the out of stock email

“Demand was huge during the launch yesterday, far beyond the expectations of NVIDIA“

Find that hard to believe tbh.. let’s make a card and advertise it as being 50% faster then a 2080ti but it’s just over half the price, not that many people will be interested will they? Especially with next gen games right around the corner haha !

What we're probably underestimating here is just how crap the AIB distributors (whether in house or independent) and manufacturers are. There is a whole supply chain here and OCUK is at the very end of it. Often individual employees will just bury their head in the sand (that comment isn't aimed at OCUK) when there are insurmountable problems because there is genuinely nothing they can do about it.

OCUK can't do anything without the distributors.

The distributors can't do anything without the stock.

And AIBs didn't manufacture enough stock - whether that is Nvidia's fault can obviously be debated.

Personally I don't see the need for all the secrecy surrounding stock (again, not aimed at OCUK as their hands are tied) but it's nvidia's train set and they will play with it how they wish.
