Unfortunately it’s hard to see beyond the “OMG WHERE MY CARDZ!!!111one!11!” and there’s a lot of really wound up buyers acting like their world is ending because a luxury item isn’t available on day 1 of a global pandemic :D

Can you blame them? It's not like we can do a lot of other hobbies on the regular, especially with the local lockdowns springing up all over the place.

Happy to have my health, though.

i'm assuming then, based on my question and the lack of feedback. Todays ordering of the MSI's from a competitor, are also a pre-order and the delivery date of Friday was not only unrealistic but clickbait and a clever way of getting new customers to sign up to a 'Buy Now, Pay Later' finance scheme, where a select percentage will pay 40% interest.

How are you getting pushed back? Anyone preordering now goes to the back of the queue.

They’re manually removing orders placed by bots, switching people that changed SKUs and will give you a rough idea of your place in the queue shortly.

You’ve paid for a card and they don’t have stock. When they do, you’ll get it.
I think @Dirty_yoda is talking about the people switching SKUs. As an example, if you ordered a TUF a few hours after 2pm because you bothered to do some research and others just jumped in, bought whatever they could and have now decided to switch to a TUF, pushing you back in the queue, I think that could be quite annoying.

Absolutely, and thanks for discussing it civilly.

No problem and thanks for the civil reply. I do agree that there's a heck of a lot of histrionics in this thread and I dearly wish people would be nicer to each other here but I think OCUK could help themselves a bit with a little more transparency and communication. They might save themselves a few calls and webnotes, if they were seen to be a bit more open about things (e.g. about switching SKUs, stock expectations into the future etc.).

Not as far as I'm aware since you can pay however you like. There was some 3080s apparently, and then after about 45 mins said it was out of stock. Sounds like they might have had some stock and sold it. Worth noting that I don't think this retailer sold any of these prior to today, so will be from their first allocation.

However, could all be wrong and they are taking orders for stuff they don't have yet like everyone else. Considering that, unless anyone has cancelled previous orders prematurely, if it turns out to be guff, it can just be cancelled and back to where we were yesterday.

Someone I spoke to earlier said they had a phone call to confirm theirs shipped and they said they had 400 3080's to hand. I highly doubt it but i guess we all find out soon enough.

Spoke to a rep on the phone today he told me that the customer cue list was ready to go they were just waiting for something to do with the emails going live and said an update to the main site would happen at the same time not sure if it was b.s but you could tell he was sick of the questions

I've read this 400 rumour on the net and in a discord group. Fingers crossed its true, but I doubt it. I do find it strange how the 3090's are still available though. Based on the popup that appears when clicking onto their page, they haven't sold anywhere near as many 3090's as they have the 3080s. So maybe they do have a large stock allocation? Who knows... time will tell.

This sounds so sketchy from OCUK, why wouldn't you have your card by now? Didn't gigabyte supply eagles and gaming OC to the UK this week?

Gigabyte said on Twitter that next week we are gonna be getting more cards.

I'm expecting to get mine with that new shippment, I'm 64 in the que, and there is people getting their MSI yesterday being 90 on their que.

It's kinda sad I had to be paying more attention to Gigabyte to know about when I will get my card instead of OCUK letting us know.

Anyway, Palit said the same about this current week and looks like most of the people who did the preorder got them (at least the ones from 17th), even from 17:00, I did mine at 14:29 for reference (but on the Gigabyte Eagle)

Damn, wish I would have got anything other than an evga... Should have done more research. Huge congrats to those getting their cards though! Well deserved to everyone who receives one :)

Imagine having to deal with this launch whilst working for minimum wage as customer support....

If any supplier of the cards including OC had several allocations and decided or were unable to sell on day one, it would not be all that surprising if as such, they did have a large “allocation” to splurge all at once. OC have been getting like 50 cards here and 50 cards there plus whatever they had at the start. Just difference methods suppose.
