Never will I ever order a graphics card on launch day again, been without a card for 2 weeks and I’m cracking up.
My GTX 1080 died a couple of months ago. I'm losing the will to live no PC.

At least there is a 3080 update thread for stock updates, not heard anything concerning the 3090's.
As others have said constant communication even if there is no updates is the way to go, it keeps people feeling like valued customers instead of cash cows.
I think you might have missed the point a little with this, There isn't any anxiety, if i don't get my card until 2021, that's fine. What im after, it's just some open and honest communication as to what's going on. for the last 2 weeks we've had virtually no communication. What we have had has mostly been in emails to individuals instead of updates in the official thread. The updates they have been posting are clearly missing things out. They post occasional updates in this thread and other stickes. You aren't getting your card in a days timescale, it's weeks or months. There's no amount of information, even if it was available that will change that. It's a GPU, a luxury item. If anxiety is getting the better of your patience, cancel your order.
The longer Money is in an account = interest + profit.Aye, exactly this. Good point
I’ve got my Xbox one x but warzone runs terribly on it, I honestly can’t wait to be back on mouse and keyboardMy GTX 1080 died a couple of months ago. I'm losing the will to live no PC.
in raw performance terms and build quality, no probably not because there are cheaper alternatives that same or similar perf. I'm not aware of MSI having binned quality silicon they might do based on what they receive...
in terms of being powerful and very quiet plus actually shipping, I think you have to weigh that up. The TUF OC was probably the best choice in hindsight as the perf is the same but is arguably a better build quality. Personally I don't think the Strix and EVGA 3080s make sense because they are like +£200 over MSRP you might as well wait for a 20GB model to my mind
either way you are arguing over £50 here or there, if that is important to you go for the standard TUF if you can get it @£660 you'll have to wait for it and unless AMD beat 3080 perf I doubt prices will come down much, not for a long time anyway
Constant communication with no updates is so pointless. The real problem is people's lack of patience for something that is a luxury item.
Finally someone gets the whole point of why the pre orders are continuing...the more orders and the longer the wait = big big interest. Thanks for cruching the numbers. The amount of interest OCUK must be coining in is staggering, like.
Let's say conservatively 7,500 cards on back order at an average cost of say £700.
That's £5.25m in the bank just gathering interest. Working in retail purchasing most stock will be on credit terms and not proforma so there is no upfront cost for OCUK.
Thats not the point though, just because you are not bothered, many more people are, all we want is place in queue to make informed decisions.
Currently it is the blind not even bothering to lead the blind.
I honestly don’t see why OCUK don’t have someone going through the orders, putting them in chronological order for each item and contacting the purchaser to let them know where they are in the queue.
I get it’s not a huge business with a huge amount of staff, but one person doing the number crunching could get this done in a couple of days, maybe less.
I have to say that I was like ^^ when I saw you could still preorder on OCUK...Finally someone gets the whole point of why the pre orders are continuing...the more orders and the longer the wait = big big interest. Thanks for cruching the numbers.
How can you make an informed decision without knowing the numbers of GPUs coming to this and other retailers and the schedule of those? Nobody has all that data and nobody is obliged to provide it.
Well see. If the point in that screenshot of the email is true regarding EVGA cards. That's something I think might have been worth communicating. That they didn't choose to pass this along is telling.Constant communication with no updates is so pointless. The real problem is people's lack of patience for something that is a luxury item.
Sure, the cards are luxury items. That folks haved saved for, potentially for months, have then PAID for, and the company who took the money is not providing updates on that purchase...
Everyone will vent their frustration differently, some more constructive than others, but the fact we are talking about a luxury product (your words) doesn't make it less legitimate.
I rang up yesterday and was told I’d receive an email within 24 hours it’s now been 28 hahaHas there been any update regarding official queue checker?
Business accounts don't really get any interest rates to be worthwhile. The amount of interest OCUK must be coining in is staggering, like.

What it tells me is that their staff are probably swamped by people constantly phoning/mailing to ask what place in the queue they are or what is the latest update on the card they have preordered.Well see.
