Personally given what OcUK have said so far, and if I was the customer manager trying to figure the allocation queue out... I would:
- cancel any silly orders e.g. I want 5 GPUs
- contact those with multiple orders (the one's where people are hedging their bets) and ask them to pick one
- obviously split by manufacturer
- sort by order date & time first
- then by order number second
- email people once per 1 week or give them a portal that tells people where they are in the queue
- give people general stats on queue lengths because that might want to order say a Palit vs. Gigabyte if that means they get one delivered quicker
I think that would help, at the very least you are keeping people informed and being fair about it. For all we know there is a stock of 200 still sitting in a cupboard waiting for a new Ryzen 5000 build next month, or someone comes along and nabs a load ahead people that have been waiting weeks/months.
