Arctic Freezer II - product alert

If you watch the video, the kit comes with what looks like ~50ml of fluid to top up the loop with... I wouldn't want to risk dropping the cold plate and having the whole loop empty!

At least I would then be able to flush it out properly and ensure any remnants of crud from that previous gasket is out from the fins etc. ......But point taken, out it all will come :)

Knowing my luck what you describe would happen..!

To be honest, if you order the kit they don’t ask for the proof of purchase. So you can input a purchase date that is within that range and they will still send you out the kit.

The proof of purchase is only required if you are sending the AIO to Arctic.

I bought my kit in early June 2021, the website form said I didn't need a kit, but given they said defective products went on sale from May 2021 I've went ahead and grabbed a kit anyway. I don't mind opening it up.

This is how customer service should be done. If they had tried to hide this then it would have come out in the end and could damage their reputation. I have a 360 upstairs that I ordered in Jan 2022 so I will check the serial number and see if I need a repair kit.
Of course it would have been preferable if they had better QC for the galvanising process but once a mistake has been made own up to it. It is also very clever to pro actively contact GN and get them to show the repair process.
Like Steve mentions, if I have to change the gasket I will replace the fluid in the rad.

Well form was simple to find and fill in so lets see if I get a repair kit.

Poor method they have used purchase date is not a good way to do it.

Mine shows it's fine but I have noticed performance is not great nothing like the reports I read before purchasing

I noticed when installing in new case last month it sounds like a fair bit of air in system could the liquid included in this kit solve the issue?

How did you order the kit? I bought mine in August 2021 which is within the date range, but when I enter the details on the site, it says it is fine!?

I've emailed their support to ask for clarification, but if there is a direct way to order the kit I'll gladly do that!

Arctic doing the right things for customers just like Fractal, this is a big win for them even if it costs them a bit upfront the goodwill with users will pay for it. Someone at Arctic pays attention, which is pretty refreshing.

From what other people are saying you can change date and it will then hit one which shows you need the kit.

It is poor method they should have serial checker and know the serial numbers for the batch with the issue.

I believe an image on the page filling in details shows the affected units it has a number and if unit has that number its one of them

I've just had a reply off Arctic, who have said that it's not every batch from every sku within that time frame, just certain batches apparently.

But they did state, like you said, that if I wanted a kit to be on the safe side, then change the date until you hit one that allows you to order a kit lol
