Arctic Freezer III now available.....

Perhaps I would not have flipped to the gen 3 so early if it hadn't have been for their...

The good thing about being able to take crappy photos is that they hide my even more crappier cable management...

....at least I have managed to get rid of a piece of bluetak, finally.
Managing to fit the 420mm radiator as far to the left as possible has reduced the stretch a little for the pipes.
Considering, afaik, that the AF range of AIO's have the longest pipes, or at least advertise their length, I would not want to try a different brand..!
AF being 450mm in length. One Alphacool 420mm AIO has 350mm pipe length.!

That looks a much more comfortable fit than the older model. I now just have to ponder whether their Intel contact frame is good enough compared to the Thermalright I am currently using or wait for a possible revision.

Only bought the AF II 360 a few months back so trying to resist for a while but the price is tempting....

@Simon42 I think of it as the contact frame being better than not having one at all, rather than, at this stage, being necessarily the best available.
For me that made enough sense to buy into the rev III at the price that it can be bought for now.
If AC decide at some point in the future to change their CF I am edging my bets that it will either be offered to those having bought the cooler with the earlier revisions for free, or at a discounted price.
Waiting for a revision, could also mean a revision to the price....
Ifs and buts, I know.

Considering some thinner fans to get my III 280 mounted in the roof of my case. Do we think I'd lose much performance if I mounted it with Jonsbo HF1415s in place of the stock Arctic P14s? The Jonsbo fans are 15mm thick instead of the 27mm that the stock ones measure.

Given rads need a good static pressure I would be concerned about thinner fans as that is a key area they lose put on. I think one of the AF III reviews mentioned higher fin density on the new model as well. So best to compare static pressure specs at the very least.

Quoted static pressure for the stock fans is 2.40 mmH2O (presumably at 1700rpm, the max speed), versus 0.2-1.79mmH2O depending on fan speed (700-1650rpm) for the Jonsbo ones.

Will keep looking :)

@JRS did you see the post a little further up by @clone - regarding the fans he is using..? not sure if that can guide you at all..?

Yeah, the Lian Li Infinity fans are 25mm thick, and I don't think that'll gain me enough to cram the rad+fans into the roof of the NZXT H7. But, I'm gonna get a tape measure in there tonight to see just what I have to work with.

Installed mine over the weekend and really happy with it.

Looks nice. Is yours the 360 or 420? Also how are you finding the noise levels as I’ve seen a few posts over on Reddit claiming the these are a fair bit noisier than the LF2?

I've got the 360 version none RGB black looks nice. Haven't had a chance to fit it yet as work, so will do so this weekend. If it fits in my phanteks p600s and Asus B650E-E depending on how it goes I may buy the 420 with the 140mm fans. Then put the 360 in my other pc which has an nzxt h7 flow case.

@w00dy85 Are you controlling your fans individually and if so what do they scale up to, in RPM..?

Looks very nice.

I just used the single connector as I was happy with that before.

It's the 360, but my case can take a 420 top and front, noise level seems about the same. I can't tell any difference really.

My old 360 cooler is going to go in my daughter Phanteks Eclipse P400 Air case, when I upgrade her cpu.
