I am not sponsored or tied to any manufacturer. All support me and the work I do at OCUK , posting on HWbot and within the overclocking community in general.

I work closely with both Nvidia and AMD directly and with all partners too.

A New Challenger Has Entered The Arena

Confirmed: AMD to launch Hawaii XTX GPU

PyMPhA5.jpg.png

The card we are now going to call Radeon R9 295X, would compete against GeForce GTX TITAN BLACK and GTX 780 TI, with a good chance to beat both. Hawaii XT GPU was already better in 4k benchmarks. 128 Stream Processors more will most likely put an end to GK110 domination.

Radeon R9 295X will most likely only be available with custom cooling solutions (no reference cooling).

Matt oh Matt...you had me going there for a minute thinking there's a 3rd GPU maker entering the scene to shake things up for AMD and Nvidia...:p

Ah well...:(

As for the article itself, considering their originally uses 8packs as the reference, I have to wonder how much of their "dug up" information is from the speculations we ourselves came up with in on this very forum lol

+1 I'd love to see a 3rd player but i doubt we will see one

Side question has anyone made sure the 780ti is full fat....

Might actually go for this if it's under £500

Can see nvidia announcing a new card within a week or two though as that's how it seems to work nowadays.

If AMD release this next 28nm card under the 295X moniker, does that mean Nvidia could release their new 28nm chips under the GTX 790 moniker, rather than either side branding them a new gen?

Would be better imho, save 390X and GTX 880 for 20nm cards...
