Are OcUK one of the best quality forums?

that's a load of crap. you've been here way longer than me, and i've met everyone on your list except Feek. it just seems to me like you want to be popular, but you cant be bothered to try and socialise with people on here. you dont seem particularly scared to join a debate (or, indeed, start one) so that's the only reason i can see

Not looking to be popular, if I was would I have said anything about clique's in the forums, would I have been against avatars being forced on users or would I take part in debates that were against the majorities views in Speakers Corner?

I'm certainly not the only one who has thought about clique's on OcUK if I wasn't the first to mention one and I only provided an example list of members I thought were a clique when I was asked.

I'm simply another forum member like everyone else.

You're definitely going to have to elaborate on that. You can't be saying the 'clique' treat new members differently to existing members?

[edit]Ah, you retracted the latter part.

Slow editting. :)

I think what he is trying to say is that some of what these guys and possibly 'we' say is encoded due to the fact we know each other, a bit like the DazDaz Go coment in the other thread. The thing is that it isn't done to isolate people and if they ask then we tell 'em what we are talking about.

I suspect that if I hadn't asked the question then I would have been included in your little list but it isn't about being secretive and not letting people in its about having a laugh and in fact actively encouraging new people to get involved.

The problem is that most are either too young or don't have a partner to bring to the wife swapping parties.

I could bring my hand and .... err, on second thoughts, forget that! :D

I know that, it's just that it could appear that way so some members, especially new one's. Certainly the people I mentioned wouldn't be nasty to new members, well, maybe Gilly. ;)

I don't understand what people are expecting from a forum where a good percentage of the members are anonymous. It goes without saying that there a some members that do know each other and are going to converse differently with those they know but that doesn't mean they treat them any diffeently. I don't think are any groups on the forums that are intended to be 'clique', after all we all have a choice to either join in or not.

In the end, no one is ignored where a valid or constructive point is made. Those that continue to spam or post needlessly do end up getting ignored.

that's my opinion. but that that's the beauty of the forums. You can agree or not agree and that's it purpose.

I like OcUK i like the rules i think that the forums benifit from them. For the people mentioning cliques, yes i suppose it could be seen as that i used to think that but after taking to some members of this supposed 'clique' i came to realise that its just because they do all know each other and get on.

I've not been on this forum for very long but i think that being a member has changed me. I was when i joined an attention whore and i know that a lot of the mods disliked me. Hopefully now they can see that i've grown up a little bit. Like some people i've not always seen eye to eye with all the members here but i've tried to see it from their point of view.

Now i view some members of this forum as very good friends. Hopefully in July when i turn 18 i'll be able to meet a few more further away members and put some faces to names and have a good time.

(Now i have to go untangle my sisters puppy from the sofa cover he's just killed  )

I've been a member here for several years, and despite not posting as much as I used to, I still spend a lot of time browsing; so there's obviously some appeal.

I used to frequent GD a lot, but haven't done so in the last year or so, but have done more so recently. And tbh, things dont really change. Lots of people have come and gone, and there's some new "in" jokes - but the atmosphere is basically the same.

If you think that there's a problem with 'cliques' here, you should ask yourself the following question:

Would I still perceive this problem if I was funnier, better looking or more interesting?

Your answer to that question will tell you all you need to know.
