Are we the New Man utd?

I don't know who you support so can't comment.
Who I support doesn't really have any bearing on the subject. I wasn't talking of other fans supporting the same team.

Funnily enough my hatred of manyoo has actually lessened through knowing some of the fans on here. They're actual fans as opposed to the plastic/glory fans I encounter day-to-day.

Fixed, there's the transfers in the nineties out of your list ;) During the height of our success.

Sorry, wasn't aware I was only allowed to list signings from the Nineties (you missed out Stam, btw). Remember that Manchester United have won as many Premiership titles in the Naughties (this decade) as all other clubs combined.

so what do they hate us for then? Dislike the name? Consider the club arrogant? if so has the club always been arrogant? has everybody ever associated with the club been arrogant? Or is it simply a case that we're still getting the tail end of what Chelsea are starting to receive and what Liverpool got in the 70's and 80's?

Hate is far too strong a word to use in that instance, fair enough you can laugh when they slip up but hate? nah.

Do Villa fans despise us? or is it Birmingham they don't like?
Ask a Tottenham fan if he likes us and he might say no but ask him who he's prefer to win the league out of united and arsenal and i'd say 9/10 times you could predict the answer. Same holds true for other clubs as well Sunderland/Newcastle, Portsmouth/Southampton etc etc. They might get bored of seeing a team win and have a moan about it but they hardly hate the club do they?

Probably the start of it was the fact that they originate from the dirty side of the pennines ;)

Arrogance is something they've had while I've been around. No idea if thats what planted the seed of hatred.

The situation is no different than it was with man united in the mid 90s. The rest of the clubs by and large couldnt compete financially. Same sort of thing but the figures are of course hugely inflated.

Of course its different, we earnt our money through success, and at the end of the season we had to answer to the shareholders or the owners as to what was spent and what we earnt back. We never just threw the money at it with no regard to the consequences.

i have never liked man utd maybe cus from the time i been following football they wont a lot of things. i have been a supporter of chelsea for over 10 years now and are we the new Man UTD? everyone hates us playing they hate our manager and they thing we are boring?

No.
Man Utd became a big team by home growing our players and no one, even the most ardent hater of Man Utd could claim we played boring football (atleast not consistently).
We did by big players, but once in a blue moon.

Must admit I don't like Chelsea but hate is a strong word. Respect to the team in most cases. As for singling out Robben for his diving well every team has them.

I hate it when players come out and say "The rest of football is only jealous" 2 league titles in fifty years is hardly something to crow about so I don't know why Terry thinks they command respect.

Problem I have is with the fans really. Always bleating on about "All you can say is its about money, your all jealous" Well would Chelsea have won the league last year without spending the Hundred and odd million they did so go figure. I also have a dislike for how the club commits its affairs in public. A complete disregard for the rules as per the tapping up episodes.

Money still cant buy you class or a bit of dignity

It's a good point about the "Jealousy" issue, no-one is, certainly not of what they have won since the money...

1x League Cup
1x Premiership

The players go around as if they demand respect, when they are a team full of people you just can't respect without dislike.
most notably:
Didier Drogba - Most hated player in Premiership ever?
Arjen Robben - The man is a 'simulator', in football fan terms, he's the biggest diver in the premiership and a whinger.
Lampard - When things don't go his way he REALLY spits his dummy out (same with Joe Cole).
Mourinho - The man lacks humility, he got outclassed against Barcelona this season (and arguably last season) and still wouldn't admit it. Good manager, entertaining at times, but also annoying in his disrespect.

Also, Chelsea cost me £580 by losing to Fulham, so, so... so.. GRRRR!

As i consider myself an honest poster i have to post the following.
I have supported Chelsea for around 35 years but even i am sick of Mourinho.
The way he is after a defeat makes me want to Punch his face.
I also want to punch a few players in the face for losing on Saturday. Personally i am from the gutter and prefer my team to be the underdog fighting hard and showing character. I do not like being a long time supporter to a bunch of Posers who ponce about like Italians.
For me Chelsea were the Hardest club in the league with a Hardcore away support of English dudes only comparable to Millwall and Leeds. In the 70's and 80's we were feared the world over by ALL.
Nowadays we are associated with other poncy clubs like the Manc army.
Normal people in the street feel free to be able to **** us off when if they really met a proper old school Chelsea supporter they would Crap there pants and say NOTHING.
