Are you DirectStorage ready?

Not really much point since that game has basically no load time anyway so what would having it achieve?
DirectStorage is well suited to games with large maps so you can stream in textures when required without having long preload times or stuttering mid game. Not sure if Plague takes this approach though, haven’t actually played it.

It has no such issues which is why I mentioned there's little point in having ds in the game as it wouldn't change much!

Everybody can test first Directstorage game Forspoken demo to see how well it run on your GPU, HDD, SSD and NVMe SSD today.
Don't expect things to be good, no review copies sent before launch for PC, the spec reqs are ridiculous and point to unoptimised performance, Digital Foundry's PS5 take on it showed ray tracing that is half baked (lacklustre AO and GI, like worse than rastered AO/GI).

These features don't really impact me as I play mostly online I'm always waiting on the git playing on a laptop 5400rpm drive.

Doesn't matter how fast I am when I have to wait for others.

Might check it out tonight though didn't even know the Xbox game bar was still a thing as I mostly use the Game Pass ultimate window, would be nice if they merged them together.

That and the ray tracing mode runs better than quality mode, quality mode has fps drops to 20 fps

I'll try the demo out, but like I say, not expecting anything :p

Like yeah it might load fast, but then again so do other games that don't use DS?!

Hopefully load times are as fast as the PS5.

You can go from the main menu into the game in around 1 second. Can't say I'm all that interested in the game, only as a tech demo of direct storage.

They are not it's been checked. The game uses ds1.0 instead of 1.1 so no GPU decompression, load times are about what you expect from any other game optimized for an ssd

Got a link? Having played the demo the load time of the save is instant. I don't really know how much quicker than instant you can get. It is click > loaded.

Performance is also pretty atrocious. I've seen one benchmark and it was using a 12700k with an RTX4090 and at 1440p max settings it averaged 75fps with a range of 75-100fps. The game also has a 120fps hard cap.
