Are you going bald?

I'm 33, my hairline has receded but I'm not going bald. Would I prefer my hairline to not recede and not at some point start going bald? Yes. Does it bother me and keep me up at night? No :)

In a few generations dieing will also be a thing of the past, that's not much help to those of us losing our hair at the moment though is it?

I'm not losing mine by the way

less than 3 years away if you like to know, at the moment its in phase 2 going to phse 3 at the end of this year, should hit the market end of 2013 or 2014.:p

Sounds promising, but I assume it will only be an option for those on a Wayne Rooney type salary for at least the first decade?

I'm 28 and i have a very slowly receding hairline, it has definitely become more pronounced in the last couple of years, baldness isnt really a major issue in my family, in my case i think its more stress than anything?
but i dont think it will get to the point where i have to shave the lot off.
cant say i'm that bothered either way i dont hold any particularly strong feeling for my hair, in fact i wish it would hurry up and **** off.

Im 39 now and for the past few yrs i have been going thin at the top, havent lost it all but its definitely thinning. My dad is bald but lost his hair by the age of 30 i think so thankfully i havent lost all mine...yet.

Does it bother me?? of course it does but then im not made of money otherwise i would have done a hair transplant a la Rooney. Thankfully my missus doesnt mind me going bald lol and it hasnt caused me any suicidal thoughts and i dont think it will.

In my very early 20s, receding massively and have a substantial bald patch on my crown.

Would definitely rather not be going bald, especially at my age, but it doesn't stop me doing anything or get me down much.

I read some article in a newspaper the other day quoting some scientists who reckon they'll have a treatment to restore growth within two years.

Ah here it is:

I had a scare earlier in the year when a scalp problem caused the crown to start thinning. I started washing my noggin with this horrible dermatological dandruff shampoo and the skin healed and my hair grew back nice and thick thankfully!

Started balding on top (monk style) since 21. I'd rather not be going bald, but it doesn't bother me more than that. I'm pretty close to just bic'ing it all off, but I can't be bothered with maintenance at all :o.

Interestingly at the same time I started going bald on top, I got hairy as **** everywhere else. Shoulders/back etc., So I guess mine is DHT/Testosterone related. My grandad had full hair (not even grey!) until his late 60's.

Starting to recede up top, makes me a very sad panda.

Receding hairline around my forehead for a while, bit thinner on top now as well. I am a reasonably good looking guy, so while I am vain in the respect that I am aware of that it isn't an overriding part of my personallity I am not super concerned with my appearance. I quite like what age is doing to me at the same time, but there are occasions where I look to see an inch or more difference from where my hairline used to sit... and long to be able to do my gay hairdos again.

But overall I am not particularly fussed, if my father was anything to go by it's normal and I'll be lucky to retain any dark colouring into my 40's. He was white/silver (not grey) by that age.

Sometimes it does take me by suprise, but with wrinkles and laughter lines and so on where do you stop with the self obsession and critique? I have largely embraced growing old, I don't know if I'll be confortable with frailty however.

If the hairline becomes too bad I'll just go back to shaved head. I did enjoy shoulder length long hair for a few years as well.. :D
