Are you working over Christmas?

Haven't worked Xmas for years. Advantage of working in IT. Work goes quiet start of Dec. Usually take as much leave as I can, as I'm usually fed up of work, and theres a load of family stuff going on.

25th is holiday, i'll take 24th off. 1st is also a holiday but I will be on call. Otherwise i'll be working the rest, although if the weather and snow is great i could take a day skiing.

Off but on call for emergencies
I hope you're being paid a fortune. Finish on the 20th back in on the 2nd (all university closure days, so no leave used).
I could have booked two days annual leave for the 2nd and 3rd, however I'd rather use leave when the weather is a bit nicer.

Unfortunately not, no extra pay. Part of the job and only really if things go really wrong. But helps nearly half my team don't do Xmas, as they are in.

I break up Friday back in 30&31 then off until the 6th, working the two days just to clear some backlog. Joys of project work it can all go on hold until we are all back working again.

27,30 and 31 normal shifts
