Are you working over Christmas?

Strange industry? Even universities don't have that long off over Christmas.
Forces advisory specialist role. Had lots of leave to take, been on a course all year so couldn't take any. I've accrued over 60 days leave with deployments and carry over from last year. Thought sod it, I'll smash the whole month+ in.

Strange industry? Even universities don't have that long off over Christmas.

In years gone by where my dad works (leather industry) would have pretty decent leave over Christmas, not quite that long but similar. They shut down the factory floor and do all the maintenance tasks, etc. which couldn't normally be done with live ongoing operations.

These days with more modern equipment and so on it tends to be much less though.

Finish Friday (17th) and back to work on the 11 Jan 22. In for those 4 days and off the following week.

I'll have forgotten what the place looked like :)

Don't get extra days off as Christmas falls on the weekend here but got a bunch of days off saved up so I be working for a week in January and I have the rest of the month off. Works better for me as I don't really celebrate Christmas.

Bleh having to work New Years day (as well as Boxing day) now - albeit only 4 hours.

Still got 10 days total off between now and the 2nd of Jan so can't complain - was expecting to be working all but like 3.

Thread necro time :D

(I forgot to ask for Xmas 22 and 23).

Tonight I start the 1st of 4 night shifts on the bounce, then I'm off til the 28th/29th then off again for new year too. Result.
