Arma 2 multiplayer arranging thread

does any one have a logitech 3d-pro joy stick, need to set it up for arma2 if any have it can you send me teh profiel for it or help me set it up tried last night and ran in to a few issues of me not fully knowing what i was doing :o
I dont have that particular joystick but setup should be the same for all really. In Arma 2, open the control options and choose 'aircraft controls' from the drop down list at the top, then just click the controls one at a time and press/move whatever you want to bind them to... i.e. click 'pitch down' and move the joystick forward.
I can't remember the exact control names and can't look as I'm at work, but the ones you'll want to set are:
Pitch up/down
Roll left/right
Rudder left/right (left pedal and right pedal)
throttle +/-
fire
command fire
etc

If your joystick is a 2-part stick and throttle where both hands are needed you'll probably also want to bind a few more buttons - teamspeak, trackir toggle, trackir centre, menu up/down/select - if your stick supports hotkey emulation in its drivers/software that is.

Wow... My spec is in my sig, I have followed everything on the guide... Everything maxed I get like 15-20 fps lol!

Something isn't right then, you have a very similar spec to me and I get around 50-70fps on average (dips occasionally) with all at very high except AA which is low. The only place I've ever seen 20fps is chernogorsk or as we've dubbed it on TS 'ah not that ******* city of lag again'
Can you post (or screenshot) your settings?
Check the arma 2 tweaking/troubleshooting thread, specifically the bits that apply to you are:
disable hyperthreading (HT) in your bios
enable catalyst AI and set it to advanced
run the -winxp command line argument
use ATItool to disable vsync

Hope this helps :)

That VSync thing is in 3d, wait for vertical sync always off? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

I set the localvram to 1 gig (in bytes) but it seems to change back every time I play -.-

Here is the screen shots of everything :)

The only thing I have not done is disable hyperthreading. Reason being is.... Not sure if I will loose my speed - I paid the extra for OC to over clock this and if I change to disable HT will I loose my OC?

here is a screenie of all that has been asked :)

First thing that stands out is your viewdistance is 10000 (10km) and AA is High, both will have quite a big effect. Try setting AA to low/normal and viewdistance to 2500 (as most mp games limit this to around 2000 anyway).

To answer your other questions:
Vsync option is in the ATi control panel, but if you're running vista or win 7 you'll need ati traytools to disable it - go to Game Profiles > Manage Profiles. Create one if you dont have a default one already, the disable vsync - vista workaround option is in the Direct3D Tweaks tab.

Disabling HT will not affect your overclock at all. Pretty much all games benefit from having HT disabled btw :)

As for the config file being changed back every time, just right click the file, select properties and tick read only, that'll stop it!
