The 3 original flashpoint campaigns all had pretty decent stories.... but the Arma campaigns have all been like you described.
 
so this is there the ARMA2 vanilla crowd have gone :p been playing the game again and servers are pretty empty, normal and ACE mod..... no one is ever about xD

been looking at this since in came out and been uming and arring about it, getting pushed more towards buying it as heard that PR are on the case for a mod for A2OA :D should be good from the vids ive seen. also the fact that peopel keep saying that its fixed quite a lot of the bugs from the origional... this true? :) if so ill buy it today!!!! xD
 
OA is excellent! fixes all kinds of bugs and performance issues (of course ACE2 introduces a whole load of its own... but you cant have everything)

Is there any likely performance increases? I have an i7 920 at 3.4 and a 4870x2 and my pc really really struggles with this game. I really WANT to play it but I just can't run it at any decent rate. Maybe this will do some good??

I've got the same cpu @4ghz and graphics card (stock) and it's perfectly fine, on XP64.
Can't say for sure if there's an increase myself at the moment.

I would recommend turning off post processing though, or to the lowest setting you can go for one.
 
Bought the game after months of resistance! Bought the Combined operations and the British DLC.

I'm running off a TV atm so can't play outside of windowed mode and graphics on normal but it's so damn fun.

Will trawl this thread to see any useful info
 
The new DLC PMC is out. I am going to download it from sprocket and give it a go as my game isn't with steam. I also have a new toy to play it with my TrackIR.

Holy crap I would feel sick and get head aches after 5 minutes playing on a TV.

If I even play on me monitor other than at native res I feel ill because its blurry on a TV it must be terrible trying to look for enemy's.

Oh yeah and best game ever :)

It's not too bad. I do struggle finding enemies though, but I'm placing that down to me lack of experience with a game like this. The game is so beautiful, I wish I could play it on max settings with a steady FPS. I have the Titan Nero bundle thing on OcUK...I may look into upgrading just for this game.

Currently in student halls aswell so only have the option for 20 ports open so steam takes up most of that, so online is a nono for me! Such a shame, as the AI is becoming troublesome with it's driving.
 
this is one bad thing about steam

A new patch and it redownloads the whole game :( Lucky I'm on unlimited
 
Once my new PC arrives i'll be giving it a go. Looks all weird on my current PC and i cant seem to get into it. (Kinda blurry and hard to spot the enemy so i get wtfpwned constantly lol)
