***ArmA 3 Thread***

You'd need to look around, have a look on the BIS forums. It also depends how serious you want to get with it. Some communities play it ritually - if you don't turn up for a "training" session then that's it, you're out.

Two communities I've been a part of aside from ShackTac worth looking at: IGG (Independent Gaming Group) and 1Tac (One Tactical). IGG is the bigger of the two, but not quite as large as the ST sessions. 1Tac is a bit smaller, but everyone generally knows everyone from previous gaming communities and clans etc. Both are usually always looking for more bodies for the meat grinder :)
 
Reppyboyo have a Google for havoc company. Been with them now for over a year, great bunch of fella's. We play every sunday night + some mid week OP's if people are up for it.
 
Guys I've just bought ARMA 3 in the holiday sale...

I'm on the massive learning curve at the minute and have no idea how to properly navigate the servers to find a bog standard TDM type game with weapons unlocked.

I would really like to start sniping but the servers ive been on have snipers unlocked after earning EXP.

Whats the deal? Does OCuK have an active presence on the game?
 
What do you normally play MarkeR? I'm keen to have a game with a familiar name at some point who might be able to show me the ropes. I really enjoyed last nights MP experience however I was very limited as to what weapons I could use. I would like a server that has a bit more freedom of choice in that area.

What is the epoch mod like? Is it a survival mod?
 
Sorry, couple more questions.

Are there any mods I should / need to install in order to get the most from the MP games.

Is the DLC essential at the minute? I will probably get the bundle once the marksman DLC comes out but it seems pricey just to fly a chopper.
 
Ill probably start playing King Of The Hill, you earn money to buy weapons. There are loads of great missions available for you to try from steam workshop.

Mods. I recommend getting six updater and get the mods that way, there are a few such as All in Arma Terrain Pck whic allows you to load the previous maps from A2 etc into A3. there are loads of vehicle mods, war making mods, weapon mods and even jurassic mods.

Eooch and Breaking point are the mods I usually go for but I mainly play Epoch. Pretty much Dayz without the glitching zombies and different enemies

Also had vendors where you can buy things and guns are MUCH easier to find so ur not wondering around for 2 hours with an axe for someone to shot you instantly dead.

It can get slightly boring when your on a server with not many people, but adds to the excitement when you see someone!
 
There will never be a performance upgrade of that magnitude mate. The most you should expect if 50 - 80 fps on SP with a decent view distance. As you know MP is server dependent.

Arma isn't the type of game that needs really high fps anyway, I am more than happy to get anywhere between 30 - 50 on MP..
