Depending on how big or serious you want to get with it, I know of two communities that I would highly recommend that I've been a part of.

http://www.teamonetactical.com/ - smaller group, people know each other generally well, all kind of spawned from BF2 / Project Reality days.

https://igghq.com/ - much bigger community, pretty certain the Arma 2 side of things was much bigger than the Arma 3 when I was a part of it last. More of a structured affair with everything a little more "serious" in terms of organisation.
 
Anyone up for some DTAS tonight using RHS:E? It's a good chance for all you zombie/lifers to play a decent PvP game mode ;)

Hey dude. If you can forgive my complete noobishness could you tell me where I download that and what it is ?

Im really enjoying arma at the mo and am happy to try other things :)
 
Certainly sir, all you need are 2 mods to play. First is CBA and the second is RHS: Escalation

At the top of the RHS page there is a link to "Updater". On that page you will see:

SETTING UP THE UPDATERS

Download the updaters:

AFRF Updater
USAF Updater

Download the 2 updaters and then run the bat files. This will automatically download all the files needed for the latest version (v0.3.6). If you need any help installing mods/running Arma with mods let me know :)

Also, Kunduz v1.0 was just released!

If we get enough players tonight I will port DTAS over to it. Some nice fun places on that map!
 
1930 sounds good to me.

Server details:

Cake 420 - RHS:E PvP goodness
86.181.160.169:2302
Required mods: CBA and RHS:E
Optional mods: ShacTac and DragonFyre

Going to be starting DTAS at 1930. Before that we may play some GunGame from 1900.

Im just about to get arma 3, first thing where is best place to purchase, i see games deal are doing a deal for £20 ish qid, is this good, plus being new to the game and being an old fart is it easy to pick up how to play.
