Army of the Dead

How many here could tell the pilot was added after the film finished production and she acted Infront of a green screen with no other actors. I couldn't tell.
Having read the article before watching the film there were a couple of times when I noticed, but if I hadn't read the article I'd have been none the wiser.

not too bad, the highlight for me was the dead pixel panic forcing me to turn it off and run various youtube tests only to find out its the cameras used on the film.

Not the best imo,

I hated the dof like really hated it. Pacing was off at times, things were heating up and then they drop into a heart to heart and just slow it down too much for a film where all I really want is action tbh (not like the acting was stand out)

That info about the pilot now makes sense, why would you leave your exit plan vulnerable when you are making sure everything else is covered?

Loads of other stupid things I picked up on but Zombie movie I guess.

Zombies and Tiger were pretty cool though I guess.

Yes down in the vault. I, too, was a little concerned fir my TV.

Yeah I noticed that also, more than one at points. I didn't go to the effort if checking my tv as it went away when the camera changed. Thought it very amateurish tbh, wouldn't of taken them much to sort it out in a clean up pass.

Obviously spoilers but I think this pretty comprehensively covers all the plot holes and writing in this :D

It missed the one in the first 5 mins when the soldiers, needing to get away from the area ASAP, leave the car and walk :p But yea, the film just gets worse the more I think about it :D

Couldn't tell she had been added in either.

“So Batista will be able to yeet a blackjack table across the room to kill some zombies”
“Nice, so he has super strength?”
“Not at all, a couple of scene laters he will struggle to move a mattress”

:cry: I cringed hard at that scene too - 2 times we returned to him struggling to pull the mattress from the door!

  • Yup, saw weapon never got used, after a big build up.

  • Bug-eyed daughter gets everyone killed and then we do not see her bezzie friend again or the reunite with her kids.

  • Why didn't Martin collect the head and go back through the container which was a few feet away?

  • Dried out zombies - never mentioned again. As soon as i heard that set up, i expected that the helicopter extraction would go wrong and it would be a battle back to the container, but it is RAINING! The dried out zombies stir and it's a big battle to get through, they could have even used the saw for some proper full on gratuitous zombie limb cutting!

  • Why a safe cracker when it is Taneka's own safe?!

  • Zombie pregnancy.
The more i think about it, the more ridiculous the movie was!

I assumed they had ran aground or something and so had to abandon it, and then the others were too close to the zombie. Maybe i'm being kind!

That stuck pixel annoyed the hell out of me, as per the above, i was on my phone googling Samsung warranties to see if we were covered!

I mean whole initial setup is ridiculous with the soldiers, HQ on the radio clearly knew something real bad was inside since they told them not to approach it and sounded so concerned. Why didn't they have bigger/better convoy with some helicopter support that could blow the crate to smithereens if need be but in fairness all these zombie films have a lazy initial setup (if at all) :D

I need to stop thinking about this film, it just genuinely falls apart at script level alone

I was surprised they didn’t have some jet cover ready to incinerate the site tbh. And the transporter would have swatted away that car and just kept going too. And the soldiers clearly hadn’t seen any Zombie movies. Aim for the head!

Yup, like most zombie (and indeed most horror films) its not one to think about. When we're already talking about dead people coming to life and then inexplicably requiring human meat to survive (despite their internal organs and presumably digestive tracts being completely non functional anyway...do Zombies poo??) and then only being killable by direct damage to a non-functioning anyway brain, you already know its not going to stand up to investigation and the least said about the obvious stupidity of splitting up and dont go into the cellar trope of horror movies in general, its easiest to not analyse the genre as almost every one of them falls to bits if you think about them :D

They don’t poo but they do bang apparently.

I mean, I'm sure a Hellfire missile from an Apache or something like that would do a good job, literally designed for this kind of thing!

Yeah there's always that argument but this film in partcular just really takes the pee, as I said it's all pretty lazy and slapdash, could have probably kept the premise and story and gel it together in a far more comprehensive manner. That or double down on dumb action with more fighting, less forced drama and don't take itself so seriously, worked well for likes of Zombieland :D

I get the impression that the film could have done with being a lot longer really, given the
aliens, robot zombies, time loop etc, all of which weren't explained further but then maybe those will get explained in the accompanying animated series, the prequel movie (Army of Thieves) and the sequel movie (Army of the Dead 2) and that will help flesh things out as to the whys and hows
