Arr, This here be a boarding party

Heh, you guys really are on a roll, congrats! And 47th for RAC. But I've got faith in ol' Spanky, she's ne'er let us down yet :)

LOL, and me 8800GS has arrived in NYC so hopefully will get to me early next week, then I'll be crunching Rosetta, S@H AND FAH again :)

Thank God for that. That lag is half the reason I gave up on Seti - it makes the daily stats meaningless and I'm a stats whore :D

Meh, never stopped me, once you get up to steam the stats level out on S@H and you get fairly predictable returns. You know me I've been a stats ho all me crunchin days :D

Don't say the word 'ho' in front of all these pirates! Who knows what they might end up thinking

But yes, the SETI stats do even themselves out after a while.

Good on ya! I hope you rubbed their noses in it on the way past. They passed us a day or two before you without so much as a word. Such unsportsmanlike behaviour! :)

Thanks bro. We tried to get into their forums but when the moderator asked us what client we were running for his website we didn't have one. So they wouldn't let us in. Squeeks has more info on that. So, unfortunately we couldn't rub it in as we would have liked. No loss tho as we have you fine mates ta share pints with. Be there any Guinness drinkers among ye? Or maybe a nice single malt? Enquiring minds..

would have liked to but they have a closed forum... none of us could get access... go figure...

BTW - a little off topic here, but I have satellite TV and access to over 250 channels, but one of my favorite programs is BBC Top Gear... absolutely BRILLIANT !!

I usually alternate Guinness with Stella Artois on a night out. Pretty bad combination to be honest. :o

Although on occasion I like to just sit in the garden with a nice cold Guinness and enjoy the sunshine. In fact one of the most refreshing drinks I ever had was a pint of the black stuff sat in Leicester Square a few years ago on a baking hot summers day. Must have been good because I remembered it. :D

The only downside of Guinness is out of all the drinks I tend to favour on a night out, it leaves the worst taste in my mouth in the morning. If I didn't know better I'd swear I'd been licking the tarmac off the road the night before. :(

Guinness is bleurgh :p Rather have some cider any day!

My quad's just finishing its first batch of WUs. Looks like four units in just under three hours - how's that? And I seem to have a mixture of 'mini' WUs and 'beta' WUs - normal?

That's the times I'm getting pretty much and the same stuff I'm crunching, so I'm guessing so.

// EDIT // Spanky is gradually being wound up ... http://boincstats.com/stats/team_graph.php?pr=rosetta&id=431

All workunits take three hours (or thereabouts) by default. Unusually you can actually set a preference for how long you want a workunit to take. The time simply determines how long is spent looking for the best answer before giving up and returning whatever was found.

I have mine set to take 3 hours on the fast machines and 8 hours on the slow ones.

PS - changing the time limit doesn't affect the credit overall as it's scaled.
