Arsene Wenger: Arsenal boss to leave club at end of season

I can't help thinking the board are going to make a mess of replacing Wenger.

Knowing us, we'll probably go into the season with a caretaker manager, because negotiations are still taking place, then announce the new manager the day after the transfer window closes after losing our first 3 games

These Buvac rumours do not go away.

Would be a shock if he was appointed. But if he really is the 'brains' behind the Liverpool project and Sven knows this amf him from Dortmund the he could prove to be a great appointment and cheaper than other candidates.

Arsenal have announced the new manager taking over will be Carson Menger. :D

Well rumours are swirling that Allegri of Juve will be sitting down with Juve to discuss his future at the end of the serie A season.

Not saying he’s definitely on his way to us but he’s on the shortlist. Along with Enrique ex Barca manager...

Yeah we will know more after the Italian cup final on Wednesday. I think Enrique has priced himself out, if the rumour that he wants 15 mill after tax is true.

The crowd were singing Vieiras name a lot yesterday. :D

I can't understand why the idea of having Vieira as manager is getting so much support.

He was a fantastic player for us, but that doesn't mean he'll be just as good as a manager

Not the same level obviously but he's turned NYC around since he took over 3 years ago they were struggling and now they consistently challenge

I think it's a combination of him being the highest profile ex Arsenal player in management, and the fact he was such an amazing captain and player for us.

Well they just got the holy hell smashed out of them over the weekend in the MLS.

So no i don’t want to see Viera at arsenal as a manager anytime soon, perhaps if he managed a epl team and proved himself, then maybe.

or a french bottom side and got them mid-table or higher? like doing a Burnley?

It's going to be interesting to see who does come in, I just don't see any of the big boys (Simeone, Ancelotti et al) taking the job, though an angry Conte cold be interesting. I think Allegri will be heading to Chelsea, for a year or so there then rock up at PSG.

I had quite a heated discussion in the pub on Friday with reference to the money spent and needing to be spent to get Arsenal back at the top table, I just don't see the owners stumping up the cash needed to get them competitive again. I know money spent over the last few seasons but spending £30m on CB/CM doesn't get you much these days, how many £50m+ players can you see being invested in?

In my opinion leaves a youth/2nd chance route for player recruitment, I'm not sure if there's anyone out there with a CV that matches up to take underdogs and giving the big boys a bloody nose (Emery maybe, but he's had a bit of stinker this year). It's new money that has knocked them down a couple of places, and 4th/5th/6th is about par if Chelsea, United and City invest as they have done previously.

Arsene's next step will be interesting, moving to Everton might have legs, I would think an approach would be made at the very least, a nice 3 or 4 years there as they move to a new stadium.

They can invest easily. Arsenal aint poor!

We really just need to get a couple of CB's, DM and a GK. attacking wise we have plenty already.

200m should get us 2 cb, 1 gk and 1 DM

I'm not saying you're poor, but I've seen us spend £600m+ since SAF retired and we still need 2 FB, CB, CM and a RW, which on paper is pretty much what we needed 5 years ago!
