hi i've changed all to ahci in the bios, i think it may be because i have connected it to a different port than it needs

changed the connection to sata from gsata and here is the difference

You need to have a Sata 3 port. I dont have one on my mother board so bought the Asus u3s6 card and now the performance is up and above 355mb/s

A bios update to my new Asus M4A88TD-M did something to the Sata 3 ports. Coupled with finally getting it to accept AHCI and installing the AMD Sata drivers, I got this.
Comes up as a good 60MB/s increase. I thought the c300 64GB was a good buy when I got it, now both me and my wallet are doubly reassured.

Delivered yesterday. Set AHCI on MB Gigabyte P55M-UD2, Installed WIN7 x64 (default drivers), few apps. Pagefile on it. 35% free.
Whats up with 4K and access times? Its the poorest I've seen on this site!
Also ran HDtune Pro but got odd results. When I ran after install i was getting 200mb/s read, Today I get 158.
Atto test, happy then writes gone astray. Why?

Now 27th June 2010 and look at the performance degradation!!!
Can anyone tell me whats going on? I currently have 14.6GB free on my X-25M which is unpartitioned.
Did u work out what was wrong with this?

Just installed my Crucial C300 64GB and this is what I get:

Also got a GSkill Falcon 128 GB that I tested as well.
Are these speeds ok for the C300? I'm using an Asus P6X58D-E board with a new install of Win 7 x64 and all the latest drivers. The drive is plugged into one of the 6GB sata pors and the Falcon is in a normal sata port.

Those speeds are pretty normal looking for that board, the built in SATA-III controllers arn't particularly good.
Is your BIOS up to date? A previous poster said updates improved his performance a bit.

Hopefully Windows wasn't indexing your SSD (better turning it off).
