AS SSD Benchmark benchmarks!

This one though show the speed about rite..? Anyone know what gives...

The Corsair F60 is a Sandforce based drive like the Vertex 2. This controller uses real time compression before it writes data. AS-SSD uses random data that isn't easily compressed, so it shows the worst case speeds. ATTO uses patterned data that is easily compressed, so it shows best case speeds. Real world performance is somewhere in the middle.

:( This is my brand new 120GB GSKILL Phoenix 210GB (not sure if they are around the UK, picked it up in Aus).

EDIT: See three posts down for true results - 428 :)

How can I improve my scores? I switched to AHCI in the bios after doing the regedit but have done NOTHING else! (new Win 7 install!)

Is that with or without a reinstall?

Without a reinstall.

I did the regedit mentioned on these forums, enabled AHCI in the bios. Rebooted and everything came up under ACHI and rebooted again.

All fine but the big improvement was simply using the Intel SATA ports and not the Marvell SATA ports.

80GB Intel X25-M G2 (2CV102HA firmware) using the ICH10R controller Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit, Intel i7 920 @ Stock. Been using the drive for almost a week now again nothing shut down or stopped before running the benchmark.

This benchmark was taken using IDE

Now using the AHCI

9 Months on and scores have dropped quite a bit :( Is there any way to fix this?

Hi all,

Someone from "help me" thread i created asked me to post some benchmarks after they helped me fix my bodge job install and driver/ports issue with my SSD. (my SSD thought it was SCSI connected and thought it was also a removable flash drive  when it was my system disk.)

So here they are:

God knows what's good and what's bad with these numbers, but looking at everyone elses scores, they seem about average so im happy.

Cheers!

For a Sandforce drive like your Vertex 2 I'd use the program ATTO to bench the drive. Should get results closer to the advertised ones.

Your SSD Firmware is 1.3 and your running on IDE. You need to update the firmware to 1.6 and use AHCI in BIOS when you re-install. Install Intel IRST right after and enable write back caching. Herre's how it should look,

Intel x-25M at new after windows install:

What's going on? Why is my 4K-64 so much lower?

I updated the firmware to 1.6 and reinstalled using AHCI. Got quite close, maybe needs TRIM to kick in to match your speeds? idk.
