Asian Gangs

We are all awake to that fact that there are criminal gangs but we should not look the other way if there may be a problem with one particular group just because people say or think a race card is being played.

Quoted for truth. The race card is played too easily these days as an excuse to get away with a clear crime. Equality should apply in negative ways as well as positive ones.

I struggle to see what me or you can do to change age old cultural attitudes to be frank.

So do I, and that is the root of the problem in this country unfortunately. Targeted mass Immigration over such a short didn't help. Labour attempting to boost it's voting demographic maybe?

We need to cut immigration to begin with, we also need to address the reasons why certain communities wish to isolate themselves, be it poverty, racism, white flight or whatever.

There is some evidence that segregation of communities in the UK is declining slowly, but I think we should be looking at ways to encourage a more tolerant society, and that goes for the immigrant population as well as the indigenous one.

As for dealing with crime in ethnic communities, making a big deal out of the fact that they are ethnic and attributing that ethnicity as the reason for the criminality really doesn't help either law enforcement or fostering trust between disparate cultures.

I wholeheartedly agree.

I can't comment on that as I haven't seen any numbers.

I agree, but given the cultural attitude I think it is wrong to completely dismiss race as an issue.

I agree we should not dismiss it completely, that would be foolish, but at the same time we should not give it undue emphasis, as this helps no-one and is disingenuous to the communities at large.

No, this is the segregation of communities that no-one wants to embrace.

Multiculturalism is when these communities integrate fully.

What do you suggest is the alternative, what would you do to solve the problem.
Not deliberately encourage immigration for the other side of the world?

Face it, we wouldn't be having this discussion if 'they' weren't here. That is the bottom line, call it racist I simply do not care, the fact is that immigration causes problems that DONT need to exist.

I can see how ludicrously racist and xenophobic you are if that helps :)

I suppose you have happily forgotten how Britain imposed itself on countires around the world, emparting (if not forcing) its culture on said countries along the way?

No bad thing this two way street

So you automatically assume I agree with that? Should I feel guilty about slavery as well? Give it a rest.

When has this country had apartheid?

I'm sorry... what?

I was pointing out that the apartheid system was created in order to solve the 'problem' of a multicultural society

And you dont even consider yourself British, so how the hell can you ever consider yourself part of British culture?

Once again... what?

I would say that I am Asian British. And I think that you've pointed out one problem right there. People such as yourself assume that if you're not British, then you can't become part of the British culture. Foreigners can go out and get smashed every weekend too, foreigners can have kids at the age of 14.

Can I ask why you do not considered yourself a British Asian?
