@Minstadave the load jumps around from core to core.
For me generally 2 cores get loaded more than any others.
One run I recall 90% of the time was on one core but from my testing that is very rare.
It jumps between CCD0 CCX1 Core 5 and Core 3 only. C5 does 4605-4625 and C3 4525 max. It never uses Core 4 which does ~4600. (C5 & C4 are my strongest cores).
However when playing X4 which is hammering 2 cores at 100% constant load, it sticks on C5 and C4 of the CCD0 and at 4605Mhz. Only on some warm days goes to 4575.
Tried to test with SMT off and things go weird, as it hits 4650 on C5 but then uses C2 at 4500 and jumping between CCX hurts score a lot.
Mine just won't behave that way. Going to wait for the next BIOS update before wasting anymore time trying to fix it.
Have you activated Preferred cores in BIOS?
Yeah CPPC and CPPC Preferred Cores both on. Tried a BIOS reset. Removed Ryzen Master. Tried XFR on and PBO off.
Tried latest Ryzen Balanced and 1usmus power plans.
Of the 2 1usmus plans which do you use? I think Universal is the one to use with post 1909 Windows.
@Minstadave
What CB 20 score do you currently get?
Which bios version?
What are your core temps and speeds during CB20 run?
What core voltages?
XFR and PBO settings?
Any manual settings entered for PPT etc?
From my testing memory tuning has very little affect with CB20 its all about your core speeds.
If you have had any Bios problems which I did a few times after reaching too far with overclocking (even to the point of not booting)
I found the only way to prevent them continuing to affect things is to flash the Taichi by using a USB stick in the bios flash usb port.
This is the only way to overwrite EVERYTIHNG to ensure all is as it should be.
Doing it this way erases any saved profiles because a lot of people seem to have issues trying to use previous saves on a new version bios.
Things can then get screwy and the problems will persist.
If you use the normal flash process from within the bios it does NOT erase the previous bios saves.
This file is a CB20 run of mine showing cores 0 and 1 doing the majority of the processing.

You can see the history of my single core CB20 runs and I started at 420 which I was horrified at after seeing other peoples scores.
My current best CB20 SC is 544 but that setting is not my daily driver and I do not think it will be beaten by a 3900X at least.
If using 4 sticks of ram enter it on the Dram calc as dual rank and try those settings.
Yes, both the pad on top of the chip and the one between cooler and board cover plate. And yes I did take the old ones off and clean up first.
I can confirm 3.0 is still AGESA 1.0.0.4. Flashed it - no issues so far.
