ASROCK X570 TAICHI - THE RYZEN 3000 MOTHERBOARD GIBBO & 8 PACK RECOMMENDS

No issues for me on 2.80 its all good.
Very fast membench scores with 32Gb so i am changing nothing unless there is a required Agesa update that brings something useful.

Hello. Two questions.

My chipset fan is starting to really annoy me, it's making noises and is really bugging me. I have changed it from performance mode, to "silent". This has helped somewhat. Would Asrock send me a replacement fan if I contact them? Will running it on silent hurt performance of anything in a measurable way?

Also I am still using Bios 2.10 - Is there any real benefit to flashing to latest?

Thanks all.

Newer BIOS specifically mentioned improvements to the chipset fan curve.. give it a go.

How important is the 1usmus power plan to a 3600 owner?

I currently have the latest 3.0 bios, windows fully updated, changed the bios settings he recommends and am currently using Ryzen high performance power plan.

The reason I ask is because I can't seem to get the 1usmus download file to work and cannot use an elevated command prompt either because windows 10 has decided to break something again!

What on earth is 1usmus?

Panos when you run R20 single core does it load one core or jump around? I'm still trying to figure out the poor boosting and low R20 scores I get.

When I run R20 SC I get the load jumping across 4 cores:

Heh, today updated to 3.0 bios and was playing with settings from just XMP (even IF defaulted to 800) all way to 1usmus and ram overclock.

At every stage was running CB20 single core to see how the CPU behaves as per your post.
Things are more weird than before :p
At many points the single core CB20 benchmark was split between 2 cores. Core 4 with 43% of the load and Core 5 with 57% of the load!!!!!!

That with AMD Balanced and 1usmus.

With Community Power Plan v3 the load is always 98-100% and even when bouncing between cores it doesn't split the load.

LOL.

hmmm seems a bit niche/technical for me. Does it make a HUGE difference?
Can do.

Basically you care about using xmp and tweaking tfaw and trfc. Those make the biggest and noticable difference.

You can look to tighten primaries too. But the two I called out really matter and are typically very loose by default.

Agree. With 3.0 bios update today, found the opportunity to tinker with the system today, tightening up few loose ram settings. Can take now 3800 14-14-14-14-28 with the ram voltage at 1.38 not 1.404 like before. (tFaw 16, tRFC 285)

Also played with 3866 16-16-16-16-32 but need to tweak the settings bit more. My 3900X can take 1933 IF

What is an acceptable chipset temp for everyone?
Im getting 71 degrees after about 20mins of running heaven with the chipset fan on "silent" (which is the only level I can tolerate...)

About the same here, putting it on performance doesn't really help any way. You'll be fine under 100C I would imagine.

THis stupid board!! My gpu is covering the USB type c conector plug .. Anybody know were i can get a 90 degree plug so i can use the front pannel type c on my case?

It's mad to think the board went through its full design and testing process from end to end and they obviously never plugged a GPU into it. I mean they obviously didn't because they would have seen that the GPU blocks the chipset fan and usb type C.

Having said that I contacted asrock for a new chipset fan and they are sending me one from holland. So that's good
