Assassin's Creed IV- Black Flag

I have only checked my level on one of the later missions

While piloting the Portuguese MoW ship I used E on the Jackdaw and saw it was level 45. I am about 80% through and all side missions are done, only the main quest left. Edit:This was the NE Legendary Ship..the "Ghost Ship" in the SE just kicked my butt the first time though lol, But that was all about avoiding its mortars

Is anyone having issues with this now? I go into uplay and click start and it never goes into the game.. It works with multiplayer though. Issue is with just singleplayer

When you click play, does the screen go black, then goes straight to desktop, but Uplay shows the game as still playing, even though it is`nt.
If so, the only way I got round it was a fresh install. But this has only just happened in the last few days and I`m on my 3rd play.
I have however a different problem, where the AC4BFSP.exe stops working at the exact same spot in the game at Pinos Island and so I can`t progress any further.
But then this is typical with a lot of Ubisoft games.

I've still got the 'Additional components' loading every time I play. Ticket open, one reply from Ubisoft so far..

EDIT. Got a fix for this if anyone get's the same problem. Launch Uplay but don't launch the game from there. Find ACBFSP.exe (or MP) in Ubisoft Game Launcher and use that to launch the game. Bingo! No faffing about, straight in.

How are you all getting on defeating the legendary ships? Even with the Jackdoor fully upgraded I'm having a nightmare of a time trying to sink the 'El Impoluto':(

I started on them last night & I've managed to sink the two together top right after 4 attempts, I got the Legendary ship top left down to an inch of it's life three times but it always ends up ramming me, it seems your speed is restricted so you can't escape so easily, accurate mortar shots are the only way to cripple the sails so it can't manoeuvre properly, the legendary ship seems to easily line you up for a ram attack but it seems difficult to try & line up a broadside ram yourself due to speed restrictions

Fairly far into the game no way will I 100% it. But I am starting to think the game should be renamed follow creed. They need to add some sort of diversity into the quests in the next game for me to get it or I think I will pass.

The 1.04 patch has absolutely killed performance for me on my 670 sli rig. Even with physx turned off and all the other settings left as they were in 1.03 the performance is significantly down (might have to check later that sli is still working as the performance has gone down that much!).

Have rolled back to 1.03 and everything is back to normal.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Never found it that good @ launch on a GTX780Ti TBH :( now with PhysX it absolutely bogs down & becomes a slugfest.....TWIMTBP for SLI 780 Ti/Titans methinks

Nearly finished this, but don't want it to end so doing all of the side missions.

Shame there are so many tail/eavesdropping missions, but I guess this is due to their silly development cycle. Even AC3 had some better set pieces. The feedback system has been useful, I just hope they take note.

The companion app has been a lot of fun too.
