Assassin's Creed Mirage

Kind of but there's much less of it. Most hated this part of the game, it's the story ARC which kept me playing them so I was bummed when it got put on the back burner.

I'll give Mirage a try, Valhalla was okay but it was about 50 hours too long.
Same for me. I cant see them ever concluding the desmond miles and abstergo thread properly. As they have shifted focus to different regions different assassins plot now as that sells more.

I've played all the AC games except Valhalla and personally enjoyed the non open world ones the best.

This is looking pretty good and I hope it is a return to form for Ubisoft.

Does Ubisoft have some sort of game pass where you can just pay for 1 month and play their latest games? I might want to play this but not wiling to pay full price for this.
EDIT: So it does appear that they have this Ubisoft + subscription, you can sub for 1 month for £12:99 to play it day one. I could easily complete this game in like 2 weeks for sure, so this looks to be good value to be honest.

Doesnt really seem any different to the last few AC games but on the plus side, its got an AC Origins aesthetic about it, especially in the coastal areas, so I can pretend I am in a new DLC for the excellent AC Origins :D

So apparently Mirage is much more condensed than Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla , estimated completion time is 15-20 hours according to Ubisoft. After putting in 150+ hours on each of Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla, thats going to feel much smaller for me, also means that on my £ per hour system, I cant justify buying it at 44.99 for 15-20 hours, so this one will be a 1 month, 12.99 ubisoft subscription, play it and complete it for 12.99 and then cancel the sub

I kind of agree with you but here is my take on it. Mirage looks like it is returning back to the old AC games where the games were much shorter on average to complete at around 15+ hrs and I personally don't have a problem with this if they are quality 15+ hrs. However, I played Origins and Odyssey and although I enjoyed them, I thought that there was too much padding it thoses games and it could have been condensed much more like the old games.

Valhalla was rather bloated but imo Odyssey and Origins in particular are the best two AC games of them all, even with their increased length.

Oh yeah I didn't feel the same about those two. I'm not sure how they compare in length, but perhaps it's because I preferred the Greek and Egyptian setting over the Viking one that affected my perception of it.

It was a very good choice to go back to a more condensed experience and focus on being an actual assassin, not sure how it'll pan out because it sure does look very samey. Looks like Valhalla movement, which I disliked. None of these new ones have a patch on Unity in terms of parkour.

Of the new trilogy, I only really loved Origins because of the setting and the fact it felt super fresh. The map was pure magic, the pyramid tombs etc.

Odyssey was too bloated and repetitive, though I liked the setting a lot.

These games always attract me with settings no matter how Ubisofty the gameplay gets, I never learn:p

I like big games, it’s easy to blast though a 20-hour game and forget I ever played it. If its only a short game I will wait till its < £10.
I like big games too but Valhalla's main campaign was like 60-70h as you had to do some side content to keep up with the levelling. It gets boring after so many hours if you have to do same things over and over again. I hope they are scaling this down a bit. Around 30-40h for main story and some side content is enough for most people.

Agree. Origins was good. Odyssey was too long.

Valhalla was crap.

They could make these really good games is they kept them down to 25-40 hrs of content.

But made the story lines and missions really good etc...

Also make the combat systems more meaty and tactical. A bit more rock paper scissors type thing where the AI can give you more of a challenge.

We don't want 100hrs of hours of filler.

Then again some people do.

The issue is they are all about selling games and making money. The games sell in high enough volume so for them the most important thing is just churning them out rather than going for high quality.
