Assassin's Creed Mirage

Interestingly, I've seen a few streamers this evening who were very much pro-old style AC and werent as keen on the newer AC style, who having now played AC Mirage have discovered that there was some rose-tinted glasses thing going on and that they just didnt enjoy returning to the old style AC and rather missed the more actioney RPG style of AC Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla. So a few people out there today with cases of the "I thought I wanted the old style back , but actually discovered that I didnt"
SkillUp was bang on the mark, basically they've not taken the original game play style and done anything innovative or even slightly new with it. Without an interesting (or really any actual story for 80% of the game) there is nothing to hold it up.

Frankly, it looked boring as he'll just watching the review so a skip for me and wait to see what they come up with with the next proper release.

This could have been an interesting DLC for Valhalla, changing things up, throwing the play off alittle (like the part of Valhalla when you get stripped of everything on an island). Instead it's a mediocre £50 price game.

Anybody having trouble launching the game ? pressing play is a far as it gets :(

Never mind relaunching ubisoft has fixed it.

Does it financially make more sense to get the game via "Ubisoft+ " for £12.99 per month rather than spending £35 in one go ?
I'd probably finish it easily within 6 weeks.

OK Put in a few hours now and this isn't bad but it doesn't feel as significant as Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla. Enjoying it though.

One PSA though: If you are running a dual screen setup, make sure you run in full screen mode NOT bordered - I've lost several fights due to the mouse wondering off the screen and losing focus in the AC window leading to it not responding to mouse or keyboard.

Enjoying it so far.... looks lush, love the setting and visuals. No RPG nonsense.... and best of all, I know I'm not starting off on a 100+ hour slog that I'll never finish.

I thought my settings had gone to 1080p but nope, the graphics are just meh.
The graphics are definitely pretty poor in places, lots of very low textures and severe 90 degree polygon edges. Graphics arent as good as in Odyssey and Origins imo.

I'm trying to like it, as I'm such a huge fan of Origins, Odyssey and even Valhalla. Almost 500 hours combined in those games... however, I'm struggling. Its perhaps quite telling that I'm sat here at the moment without the manic urge to log in and play, in previous AC games, this soon after release I would have been champing at the bit to log in and play.

Part of that might be the setting, I'm just not as in to Baghdad as I was for previous settings. Part of it is also the gamesize, the move away from the RPG and combat elements, it makes it feel (to me at least) so much more of a shallow game than the last AC trilogy. Sort of feels like game-lite.

Will press on with it for a bit longer, see if it clicks with me eventually though the scenery and setting is really simply making me want to play through the excellent AC Origins again more than play AC Mirage.

Yeah I think that's the same for me. Setting plays a huge part and like you, this one doesn't really do it for me. Far too early to make a conclusion though. I did your suggestion and got a month of subscription because there was no way I was paying full price for it.

I refunded the sub. I think I am just bored of the series now, it would need to do something drastically different to lure me back in (or just have another Black Flag setting).
