Assassin's Creed Odyssey

when it was ezio i actually wanted to follow his story and back then the modern story was actually bareable.
i liked, i think from brotherhood when doing the main missions you had objectives where doing them would complete the memory 100%.
they also added the extended leap(up) which if done wrong you would end up jumping off the wall to your death, now theres to much hand holding, i remember when u had to time jumps just right, the tombs were always a good challenge aswell.

It's just not an assassins game anymore I agree. Most of my kills have been via bloomin homing arrow! In previous AC titles there were a solid cast of characters. Thus far its just By'eck and his missus.

Given you're a Spartan soldier in Odyssey, I can see it just being a straight forward hack and slash button masher.

I'm fine with that as long as the gameworld is as superbly designed as Origins and I get 60+ hours of entertainment out of it. As someone with a passion for ancient history though its really all about the gameworld for me, funnily enough I gave AC:Origins my joint game of the year for last year (tied with Divinity Original Sin 2) , but despite owning all of the other AC titles, I never gave any of them more than a 6/10, so I suppose if they are aiming at a different type of player with the changes they've brought in with AC:Origins, then its worked perfectly :D

Really looking forward to this. I loved Origins so I'll be happy with something very similar.

Rome would make sense,

Hmm, it would, but it depends when it is set. If the supposed 'trilogy' follows on from Origins/Odyssey chronologically then they have already bypassed the most interesting time tbh.

Not really. The Romans came after the Greeks.

There is actually so much they can do with this. Vikings, Aztec, Ancient China, Ancient Mongolia, Feudal Japan.

I meant in terms of series progress, if it is to be a trilogy. We have already played past the Roman Republic, which is by far the most interesting part.

As I thought, it does look like a reskin, especially that there were a lot of Greek elements in Origins but I had a great time exploring Egypt and hope for more of the same here. Just not at the launch price:p

An Aztec and Japanese setting would be really awesome.

I can just see those huge steps leading up to the alter in an Aztec setting where they are conducting human sacrifices to the Sun, as well as playing as a Samurai and welding a massive Katana.

Ezio had the last great story. Both stories were fantastic and the tombs were a genuine challenge. I quite liked AC3 surprisingly, the environment was stunning and the story decent, but that was the start of the decline in the story. These days the story seems to be an after thought. I did thoroughly enjoy Origins though, the gameworld and attention to detail blew my mind. I hope they have continued to refine it for this one.

I'm looking forward to this in October.

Only just started playing origins and I'm nearly 100 hours in with the dlc as well.

Have never purchased a new game but I'm set on getting this.

Just finished a random play through of AC: Brotherhood and I'm now onto Revalations. Forgot how great the characters were back in these games compared to Origins! Also the weighty feel of climbing was excellent compared to the spiderman fluidity we have now.

Will be picking this up for sure. Loved Orgins and have put a lot of game time into it, more then any recent game I played in the last few years.
