Assassin’s Creed Origins

Who would complain if they ditched the modern day stuff entirely?...Has to be one of the most stubborn decisions of this kind ever to stick with that nonsense through all of the games. Who the hell cares about it?!

I hate it, my heart always sinks a bit when you are dumped out of the Animus. If it was past my bedtime this was usually my cue to call it a night. I can remember very little about those sections compared to the historical stuff. The graphics are usually shoddy and they have some incredibly basic adventure game sections (walk to A, interact with B, have a rifle through C’s emails to glean some backstory and office gossip on people you care nothing about, listen to some wise-cracks from D....)

With regard to dropping the modern day elements; it just goes to show how far this game has strayed from the plot that was established in the first three games, that people can now say they'd be happy to see those aspects removed completely.

Ubisoft really need to get a handle on things and decide if they are going to adhere to what they set in motion originally, because there was a time not so long ago, that those "out of Animus sequences", were central to driving the plot forward. Personally, I hope Origins brings some clarity.

The plot is such a mish mash now especially since the end of the Desmond arc. I'd be happy if they dumped the animus elements entirely.

In case people forgot, if you buy games through uplay you can use 100 uplay points to get 20% off your next purchase which includes pre-orders. You can get the standard version for around the same price as 20% off on uplay, but the gold version which has season pass is £75 on uplay, cheapest I've seen is £68 on key sites, it's £59.99 on uplay with the 20% off.

I'm not usually one to pre-order and I don't like paying that much for games at all but £60 for base + all the DLC isn't too bad.

Thing I hate most with how DLC has become is I now feel punished for buying a base version of the game because DLC is individually so massively overpriced and so rarely on sale. The base game might come down to £15 after a year but the DLC will start at say £8 for a few hours play and still be £8 2 years later. So either pony up for a gold version or wait 12+ months for a GOTY version with it all in at half the price.

If there had been more games out in the past 6 months I wouldn't have bought this either. at least £60 is less disgusting than £75 for it.

Agreed, I hate them. They have been hugely dumbed down in unity and syndicate - you don't even leave anymore. I just wish they would ditch it altogether.

One to avoid I reckon. AC games haven't been the same since Black Flag.

Syndicate was actually decent.

Really love the setting of this, graphics are fantastic and it runs really good.
