Assassin’s Creed Origins

Really surprised how little vram this needs maxed out versus other Ubisoft titles.
The textures are pretty low res apart from the ground textures which look great the rest are pretty low detail is how I think they kept it down to only 4GB Ram for 4K fully maxxed out! To be fair its very well optimised but with the massive number of developers working on the game I am not surprised either!

There is a sweetfx profile you can run on it makes it look better having tried it but its looks good. Although your performance takes a hit

Have set everything to max, but have capped the fps to 60 and allow the game to adjust AA on the fly. At 1440p it is very pretty. Really enjoying so far. My goodness the map is dauntingly big.

The textures are almost identical between the PS4, PS4 Pro and PC. The higher resolutions on the PS4 Pro and PC simply utlise the same textures a bit better. Best highlighted in digitalfoundry's video (@4:00).

I need to upgrade my PC asap, I have it running smooth enough to get 30-50fps med/high on my 970GTX and it still looks sumptuous. This is the first Ass Creed game I'm truly enjoying !

although today is the first time I looked at the ingame store

So for real cash you buy shortcuts, ability points, materials, weapons, maps ..... pfffft

At least you don't need any of that stuff - but we know that these days people will pay a lot of money to get such boosts. I don't really blame them for this anymore, as long as you don't need this stuff in order to progress.

Aparently there is a guy in game you can buy loot crates for, for in game currency and then sell the goodies. Blue exclamation/blue camel in towns but haven't ventured out of Siwa.

Bit pointless though, be more fun finding all those location by exploring then having them reveled for you. But I guess some people be going for it, wanna complete the game without work. :p

Which I guess is what they hoping some will do, for more profit.

And thats the thing...people blame the developers, but it isnt their fault. Its a simple case of supply and demand (much like the legendary chinese goldfarmers in MMOs), if there was no demand there would be no supply. Like all things in basic economics, if people werent buying , people wouldnt be selling.

Can someone with an i5 cpu and high end GPU do me a favour please?

Run Origins, max/ish settings fullscreen/windowed whatever and then open up a browser or this forum? How is navigating for you? It's freezing and pausing so hard if do that..

This game is maxing out my i7 4770k at times. Have never seen any game do that before. Reminds me of AC3 that led me to upgrade to my current CPU! Meanwhile my 1080Ti is sitting at 70% or so use...

Have finally left the starting area. Wow is all I can say. I don't think I have ever seen an environment this rich - it certainly rivals the very best open world environments from what I have seen so far.

Without giving too much away; was there a particular location in the starting area you left; with an assumption you'll be able to return?

Yes you can return to anywhere via fast travel like all AC games. After you leave into the other area wow its such eye candy. They did extremely well with the level design.

Can't blame companies for trying to make as much money as possible, the blame lies with the gamers for happily buying games with this **** included with them

Sooner or later though the market is going to tank like it did in 83 as people wise up to paying for incomplete games and having to pay more for an actual enjoyable experience or to get the full game via DLC

The "now" has been going on for far too long and has even mutated further into paying for "fun" via less grind, so much so that the only games I buy at release are indy games, all the AAA rip offs I wait until they go on sale as a GOTY edition with all the DLC or if they happen to come free with some hardware I'm after
