Assassin's Creed Syndicate thread.

Running very well for me, nice and smooth. Actually surprised for a Ubi release.

Full ULTRA with everything is getting me a steady 70fps @ 1080p aside from the indoors area of the starting missions where it dropped to 60. Gsync helped to keep it tear free.

Going to enjoy this I think, although...Croydon lol compared to some of the places we have been I'm was laughing my head off.

Similar experience here - had a very quick go before work this morning. Jacob's sequence played beautifully, but Evie's was stuttering quite badly, especially in the trees om the left hand side of the level.

Gave up at that point, hopefully some new Nvidia drivers by the time I get home from work that are optimised for the game

You can safely stick with it, the stuttering is gone once you get to the lab. London seems to be stutter-free as well.

Doesn't run so hot on a 780 at 1163/6302 on the High preset at 1080p. Jacob's mission at the start was fine, but Evie's was a stutter-fest and in London it's between 50-60 with a bit of stuttering. Seems to use a lot less VRAM than Unity did though. Only around 2.3GB with textures at the highest setting, despite it suggesting a 4GB+ card for those. Cutscenes are also more demanding than actual gameplay, just like in Unity. Had a couple of angles that dropped below 30fps in those, which oddly had nothing but a single character's face in close-up. Generally around 45-60fps though.

Also cranked it up to max to have a look and I don't think it looks as impressive as Unity did, personally. They've heavily scaled back the number of NPCs wandering around and the lighting and fine detail seems to have taken a bit of a hit. Still a pretty game, but it's a shame that Unity's ambition has been scaled back a bit (presumably because it ran like a dog).

Thanks Neil!

Just got Sweetfx running via Reshade, removes the kind of smoggy look on the textures.

Much nicer, will post some screenies later on.

This one MTechpark Preset V1, it's by Ceejay but called this, god knows why.

I'll be around later if you need a hand with it, but use reshade much easier.

No performance difference on the new drivers, but I guess 45-60 fps almost maxed at 1440p is good enough for a 970. Certainly better than Crapham Knight.

They really need to do something about those 30fps cloth physics, though.

Im getting terrible stutter and cut scenes going out of sync, ive been having a few issues with games lately with my new build im wondering if theres something up with my system, im runnning a i5 4690k 16gb ram with a msi gtx 970 surely it should run pretty smooth ??

My brother says that it's killing his 970, 30fps at 1080p. He's basically got the same set up as above.

Have we got any crossfire profiles? :)

Something's definitely not right. As I said, I'm getting 45-60 fps at 1440p on a 4790k, oc'd 970 and 8gb of ram.

My settings:

Environment quality: ultra high
Texture quality: high
Shadows quality: high
Ambient Occlusion: HBAO+
AA: FXAA

Unless he's trying to run PCSS/HBAO+ Ultra and MSAA, I can't see that happening.

On the settings above, the game's pretty much locked to 60fps if I drop the resolution to 1080p.

Shame I can't get locked 60fps at 1440p, as 45-60fps vs locked 60fps makes a world of difference.

He's got everything on very high he says. So that'll be why :)
