**Assassins Creed Unity Performance Benchmark Thread**

The glitches are so bad it's even made the BBC News. Hopefully Far Cry 4 will run better, I know the Crew beta runs perfectly when I played it, so at least that game will hopefully be ok on release.

Ubisoft needs to get their act together as their games lately have ran like crap.

Really glad I didn't pay out for this game, had it free from Nvidia.

It's so clunky and glitchy. Barely played but much like Total Biscuit I'm about ready to give up already. Jumping entirely through walls while going through these annoying upstairs windows to get to chests. Jumping from ridiculous heights in this game onto thin metal fences apparently is fine. The movement just feels so much less smooth, there are moments where it sets you up to do a fancy jump into a hole or something to start a cutscene or whatever and while you have the synchronisation thing at viewpoints which is smooth, these seem to jerk around and just look clumsy as crap.

Everything about it so far just feels basically worse. The graphical issues, constant pop in, in a far far more intrusive way than previous games. This nonsense Batman AA style random bits of paper blowing down the street, except they appear out of nowhere, and disappear, interact with nothing and it just seems stupid.

At least in previous AC games it did this kind of load in thing in the distance as if it was part of the simulation as if the "game world" was supposed to do that. But here, it's popping stuff in at all distances, right next to you and further away, it's changing texture levels frequently and intrusively.

Compared to previous AC releases, and you know, most games that aren't Ubisoft, it's a joke. Completely unfinished game. There is still the issue that some things look good, other textures look poor and the contrast is jarring. If the best textures were less good at the expense of the worst textures being improved the game world would look a LOT better.

Running over a cobblestone area where it was mud/grass except for his patch of cobblestone, but the cobblestone had zero height. Again something you would be expecting to see 5 years ago but today you pretty much expect some depth, either basic or some beautifully done tessellated depth to the stones, but nothing.

Even the best textures look poor, the clothes have a weird sheen to them that doesn't look quite right. Likewise all the hair is so coarse, seeing each freaking strand stand out looks absurd and it jumps around and like several games of late, it's basically the pony tail that moves and it pretty much exists in it's own little world where normal physics rules don't apply.

Some pretty meh graphically games look great because everything blends together, while nothing looks great everything feels like it fits together. Here everything is so utterly disjointed. Some clothes have awful textures(most actually) others are slightly higher, they seem to randomly apply extra lighting/reflection to only a few surfaces which again makes them stick out far too much. Poorly designed graphically, poorly created world and very poorly coded, both performance wise and bug/glitch wise.

Haha they deserve it!

Markets are fickle and so are shareholders who are unhappy at this too because they are becoming a liability. Ubisoft can't win; hold it back as they did with Watch_Dogs and shares will drop by a massive 33%, release on time in a somewhat bemusing 'playable' state and shares dipped by 12% with the possibility to recover the situation via patches and units sold.

Either way lessons from 10 years ago come into play, don't pre-order unless you are a huge Assassin's Creed fan, don't be rushed into making a decision by being tempted with pre-order offers, no review code likely means NDAs signed to delay copies until near/after launch time to optimise potential sales, issues will be posted by fellow gamers in forums and worth waiting to see what keeps being posted (all new titles have issues and arrive in playable state whether it works for you doesn't mean it won't work for someone else).

well i played it for a couple hours and i got bored so bad!
behind all the bugs (looks beta at best!) its not even a good game :(
some of the cutscenes look nice, and its pretty in places, thats all good i can say about it tho
they really went backswards after blackflag for me

i did care they fix it, now i dont! lol

The game automatically detected my 4K resolution and set the high preset so I jumped straight into the game.

It feels to "boxed" to me, like its a reskinned GTA V. People seem to be overrating the visuals a tad bit to much. I bumped the settings to Ultra high which looks better but nothing other than the main character looks like any of the newer AAA game releases.

In terms of performance I didn't run fraps, but it feels like sub 20fps and is unplayable. Going up to Ultra high is a heavy slideshow.

Controls are clunky and unresponsive and moving around in the game feels weird with the way the camera swings around and the objects pop in.

I lasted exactly 12 minutes and thats forced because Im going to write an article about this game. I don't know where Im going to find the will power to sit down and test different setups on this game.

I dont want the cinematic feel forced on me, sorry I cant take it .

I hope Ubisoft dies already.
