Assetto Corsa

Set my G25 up last night for this using the settings floating around in here which is pretty much FFB 100, everthing else on 0 in the Logitech settings.

It just didn't feel right, the steering was lifeless, anyone got other suggestions or what they use?

learn? just wing it ;) but bring it! Think I can knock 30 secs off easy* if I don't crash into things resulting in having to do a 3 point turn :p ... or two xD

just when traveling so fast in a straight line the wheel wants to go every direction but straight :p

*limited by my ability not to crash xD

I'll set a time tonight I reckon. What car you doing it in again? Oh and the settings?

Got my old MS Sidewinder FF Wheel out of the attic on a hunch and wouldn't you know it works perfectly:D

Sure there's no clutch but that's fine. Means I can drive about and crash!

Not too bad for a 12 year old wheel.

noice! :D

car was the ferrari 599xx evo :p

settings - set it to the PRO preset and then put mechanical damage to 100% (I put on auto clutch as I don't have a clutch... but it's DSG so think that's a moot point :p ) think that was all.

watch out for the brows on the straights.... swear if I had wings I could have just glided to the finish with the air I had on one of them xD

we found it hard enough getting through the damn barriers at the start haha! also don't think having a flying lap makes any difference and I think the S/F line is a bit beyond where you join onto the track.

I've been thinking of getting this for a while now and wimped out in the sale, I only have a Microsoft Wheel, is it worth using with a game like this or is it too basic to race properly?

Been playing GRID 2 with my controller, but want to make use of the wheel.

if you can use a wheel with it.... do :D

think that wheel has FFB? even if it doesn't... the degree of accuracy you gain from steering inputs is worth it. I used a ps3 controller with grid2 and then used my non-FFB wheel and didn't look back :D

I believe it does, I know it does on Xbox, on PC I'm not 100% sure. Will give start playing Grid 2 with the wheel and go from there, should have bought it for £15 now. :(

Just bought AC in the sales and have done about an hour's running over the weekend trying out a few cars, but I might have a short bash at the little Nurby/599 challenge tonight or tomorrow night. I know the track well from my GPL days (though of course there will be plenty of little differences), so it'll be a good yardstick as to how quickly you can dial into the game vs learning the track.

In GPL there was a handy tool for moving the start point of the track, so you could learn the track section by section, then move onto another section and learn that, eventually ending up back where you started. I didn't use it for the Nordschleife, as the different sections of the track have a unique feel, so it's relatively easy to learn, but I did for the Isle of Man Mountain Course, which is much more varied and continuous, and it reaped huge rewards.

What sort of times are we looking at?

The Microsoft wheel doesn't support FFB on the PC, they never did update the drivers to enable it.

I'm up for this challenge, though I'll probably be last.

In the logitech global setting, wheel rotation to 900 degrees, FFB to 105, Damping to 100.

In game, i run Gain at 60%, filter 5% and damping 10%

Just done a 7:26.081 with a few penalties incurred, slowly getting faster and feel i've got a lot of time to gain in the final two sectors.

This is in the Ferrari 599exo mentioned above.

If you don't get it right next time I have a game ill post my settings up took me a while but got mine where I'm really happy. But this was before the Liner FF update so may of changed now.

Sat down last night and did 90 minutes of running (much of which were aborted laps, lol). Hadn't done any hot-lapping for about 5 or 6 years now and it felt good to knuckle down and drive hard.

Did a 6:46 on the last lap, which felt good. Saved the replay if anyone wants a look: ferrari_599xxevo_nord_gw_6-46-239.rar

As I said I've got an advantage over most in that I know the basic track layout well, and while there are quite a few subtle changes from the Grand Prix Legends version (it is 16 years old after all!), it didn't take long to feel comfortable with the layout.

Can't play this anymore.

For some reason the exe stops working after I click on the start button and it starts loading the track. It something to do with the resolution. When I try the game on another PC it runs fine. But on my 40" TV it crashes every time. The resolution and refresh rate set in game match my TV refresh rate and resolution, but as the game loads my screen goes off for a second or so, it then comes back on and the game just hangs. I have to CTRL ALT DEL to get back to the menu screen. What's strange is I've used this screen to play before.

This is all after a fresh Windows install and a fresh install of Steam and the game .

Very annoying.

Anyone got either the thrustmaster Ferrari challenge wheel or the logitech driving force gt?

May get a wheel for this but don't want to spend much as i don't really play a lot

sub 7 min?! damn.... I may as well give up now haha! :D good running! shall check out the replay for tips ;)

hummm very strange.... I've noticed a slight issue sometimes. the menu would load up fine but then when I went to race it just seemed to be stuck on the black loading screen.....
but when I alt tabbed I saw there was a random process in the task bar... assumed was windows firewall asking permission or something but it was actually the game. so it had the loading screen just stuck on the process with the assetto corsa symbol on it in the task bar and the "generic" looking task with the playable race.

maybe it's getting confused with sending to different monitors or something?

Might have to take you up on that :p I think i have you on Origin or Steam?

yeah I think I remember your name popping up on battlelog :D (think I accepted a friend request at least... if not I'll make some space :) ) give me a shout tonight and we'll have a chat :D

No doubt its already been posted but what where and how do I get this nurbo download.

Have to do some runs on the pad. But least it gives some of you a chance :P Na only joking wouldnt mind having a blast bit bored of the standard tracks driving on my own. But the ring I could drive that on my own till the cows come home.
