Assetto Corsa

After playing PCARS yesterday I just can't come back to this :(

I was absolutely blown away by PCARS, the content, gameplay, mechanics, weather, tracks, cars... the list goes on.

Assetto feels like a demo compared to it.

Managed to get a copy of project cars last night . Got to say corsa holds nothing in the eye candy department. However the driving experiance for me is far superior . Pcars feels slightly detached with the wheel , there's no feeling in the road surfaces like asseto , it's almost like it's too smooth. Will keep playing both but asseto is the sim for me I think

Yeah, it remains to be seen (for me anyway) whether PCars can match the quality of Assetto's driving - regardless of content and shiny stuff :)

How are people managing to grab PCars now anyway? I wouldn't mind having a crack at it :)

I know what you mean. Tried pcars the other week and content wise it's superb. Loved the way you could adjust dynamic weather. It's a proper resource hog if you want to properly max it out with playable framerates and an acceptable level of AI.

It is let down by the handling experience and feeling atached to the wheel as someone has already mentioned. The career mode was better than AC too as well as the general menu system and ability to navigate using a pad.

The build I played was old but I can see why it was delayed until March. I will most likely pre order the steelbook edition from Game now but would like to try a demo before hand if possible.

Got my first chance to set up everything on the pc and have a go on ac with a wheel. My friend had an old Logitech Momo force wheel (red one which the g2x superseded) which I got for a bit more than a few pints :D. What a wheel, obviously a bit crude for some on here but the build, feedback and design of the whole thing is fantastic

Also have dash meter pro up and running along with full speed xfire performance

Fallen in love with this game all over again!

My first proper attempt with a wheel this evening I set a 2m29.50 on Spa with a 458 GT2...That any good or slug pace?

Think I know why I can't last long in AC with my DK2 without it crashes. The glance left and right functions..

Glancing either way puts me in the pits, or sends me to "spinning around the car mode" I've cleared the key binding for glancing, still happens >.<

I'm doing about 2m19s with a 360pad, pro mode and default setup so quite a bit of time to find mate, but it takes practice if using a wheel for the first time. I still need to set up my G27 again, its been a few months since I raced with it.

Quick guys are rocking 2:15's or slightly lower with the 458GT2 from what I've seen in lobbies. Obviously, they are running good setups, but still.
Decent pace for most mortals is around 2:16-2:19 odd.

As someone who doesn't have a steering wheel (and don't really have plans to buy one anytime soon), is this game worth it? I'd be playing with PS4/360 controller

Is it just me or is career a bit rubbish? All you do is race & time trials, no tuning or anything like that? Or have I not progressed far enough?
