Assetto Corsa

Hi all - I purchased a copy of this last night and had a quick go this morning, however I had a strange input problem I'm hoping you guys might be able to answer quickly.

When I started a quick race, the game loads and as soon as I press start session no input works to perform anything, e.g accelerate - from both my wireless Xbox 360 controller or the keyboard.

I know the input is working fine outside of the race session as I have configured the controls in the settings menu.

Any ideas?

I really wanted to have a quick go this morning but ran out of time :(
 
I love this game its just a bit depressing i am so far on the pace in most of the special events i try.

I got my first bronze medal on monza i am only a few tenths off getting silver and i was proud of my self :) But that is a track i know quite well

So i thought i would try the pagani on nurburgring gb and my best time was 2 mins 7 seconds which is way off the pace to even getting bronze 6-7 seconds off :(

Anyways i guess i should use my wheel its just a bit of hassle setting it up each time for a quick blast

Has any one got settings for DFGT they can share both in game and the profile i am a bit useless when it comes to this stuff :)

Play the career, special events are a bit hard to begin with. The beauty is everything is down to your driving ( and not tuning or upgrades), you could literaly be 10 seconds a lap faster once you start doing things like trail braiking, using lift off throttle/brake to steer into apexes etc.

TO get a gold in Career Lotus exige event you only have to come 2nd (not sure why), but I really wanted to beat the first guy. Long story cut short, I am significantly better and faster now that I've learnt how to do it - purely by experimentation and playing with the above techiques.
 
Does anyone feel that the new sound engine has really improved anything to a significant degree?
Personally, I don't. If anything, I prefer the old version - especially in cockpit view.

I lost my wheel input on track but in menus it was fine.
Other games were fine.
Only fix for me was to re-download doing a fresh install.

It may be with doing a Steam Integrity check, It found a couple of missing files when mine went funky but it still didn't fix it.

Thanks for the reply - I've spent all of my lunch looking for a definitive answer and can't quite find one.

Signed up to the AC forums and there is a post that suggests the same as you - so I will try this later first. It also suggets renaming a folder in my documents.

Hope this sorts it as my internet is awful and took around 12/13 hours to download !

I dont hear much of a difference from inside the car, but replays sound a lot better not imho, in the past sounds were getting very bunched up and reverb was pretty poor.
 
Had chance to play this properly now, have to say I'm quite impressed with it. Would definitely agree it's a simulator for the enthusiast rather than a pick up and play racer, but it's very addictive!

I'm still hunting for the perfect controller setup as well, the steering is still way too sensitive for my liking.

Where are the best places for downloading custom tracks? I'm sure I read a post with a link to the Nurburgring but can't find it now?

The AI still needs work.

They have zero avoidance skill, they have a tendency to go through Eau Rouge really slow and block the track. They can spin you very easily from behind, especially at low speeds, but you can't do the same to them. They break your windscreen from almost any contact and if you're along side then into and around corners they become magnetically attached to your car.

Figured out why I was entering "spinning around the car mode" after minutes on the Rift, it does not work well on time trial. Hot lap etc are fine.
 
1.0.8 rc landed yesterday, seems to be two minor tweaks - one for audio and a fix for career mode intro

Since updating my game crashed on startup but another Steam integrity check sorted that out.

However when I try and start a race on one of my downloaded tracks acs.exe crashes - tried a standard track and it seemed ok.

Anyone else ever had this issue after an update?

Just tried Top Gear and Tokyo Bay mod tracks and both loaded without any issues, default ones work fine too- ran a few races in Career.

Yes this is really strange... got in from work and fired it up to get log files for the AC forum and it works now!?

Very strange... but for the moment I'm happy as I've been lapping round Donington all night :D :D :D

Is there a way to make Assetto Corsa work properly with SLI? I have 2 x GTX670 and it uses ~45-55% of each card. I am using Nvidia 344.11 drivers
