Assetto Corsa

The impression I got from the tweets is that they're much cleaner now. He was getting overtaken cleanly when getting beaten! I do kinda like the aggression at times, but it is definitely frustrating when every AI car is like it :p

Just tried the NSX. Yep it's awesome! :D

I found a really good GP2 mod on the official forum, fantatsic models, skins and handling plus the sound is some of the best yet, brilliant mod. I've downloaded the NSX but haven't tried it out yet.

Still don't really enjoy the high downforce cars. Low grip full manual cars all day :D

Downloaded a few custom tracks over the weekend, grabbed a couple of hillclimb tracks that mostly ended up being a little disappointing - inc Pikes Peak. However found a copy of the Transfagarasan in Romania (as in the Top Gear best driving road in the world) which is kinda nice to drive up.

Found 2 nice custom tracks in Gentrack and Blackwood though. Both look decent and are pretty fun to drive :)

Hey guys! I somehow managed to sell an AWP Lightning Strike gun on Counterstrike for £25! Anyway, I put it to good use by buying Assetto Corsa

I've got a Thrustmaster RGT FF wheel and pedals which only has a 240 degree rotation. I do find it great for drifting but is too senstive to even keep a car in a straight line. Will I benefit a great deal from a 900 wheel?

Also, what difficulty settings do you all use? I tried gamer but was just understeering everywhere and felt really slow. At the moment I've turned off TC and SC is set at 30%, I still have auto clutch and blip on, but manual gears of course.

My favorite car so far is actually the Evora GTC. The handling on it fits my style of driving perfectly.

Interesting though the Arbarth single seater is very similar to my OMS in terms of speed and handling. It's just the noise that doesnt quite fit! :D

What's OMS?:)

900deg wheel is very nice with AC, although I use 740 to make it easier to catch slides while still having lots of precision.

For difficulty, I'd say keep auto-clutch and auto-blip on (since you dont have a clutch pedal and cant use heel-and-toe, without auto blip you'll just be locking up wheels on aggressive downshifts on all H-shifter cars), ABS -set to factory. Everything else, including traction and stability control - to OFF. AI has its own difficulty slider so you can tweak that to whatever, but driving wise the above gives the best experience.

I also recommend setting your post effects to "S1 evolution" (pp filters are in right side menu in game). These screenies were taken straight from replay, no photo mode.

You should Cali rate your wheel at 900 degrees within AC, this way it automatically assigns you the real life degrees of rotation for each car.

Awesome mate, thanks very much. I didn't even realise that menu existed!

Not tried it yet with full stability control off so will give that a try tomorrow night.

I've got an auto blip and a flatshifter on the OMS, so ideally want to make it just like that.

The OMS is an small single seater I've got with a GSXR 1000 K5 in the back of it. :D

My fastest run up Doune hillclimb. Would love to replicate it on Assetto Corsa :D

p.s - I didn't have the flatshifter or blipper fitted at that point last year. I'm hoping to shave a few seconds off that time this year :D

Yeah, I know, I will switch to that eventually. Atm I feel 900 is a bit too much work when sliding/drifting, partly due to slowish ffb of my g27. Then again there are lots of amazing drifters with g27 on youtube, so its just my excuse :p

Nice :)

There is one guy from Formula 3 on AC forums (Tristan Cliffe) who collaborated with some modellers to recreate his Dallara, maybe you could do something like that as well ;)

I fired this up today after a very long time of not playing it and a pop-up appeared saying old settings/saves/replays would no longer work with this version so I 'OK' deleted the incompatible stuff, but now I cannot get the game to 'Save' any Setups it just keeps asking for me to 'Name' the 'Saved Files' but there's no way to input any text, so no settings will 'Save'... Anyone know what I'm doing wrong or a way around this?

Are you looking for these? :

^^Here is where nothing will 'Save', the Xbox360/Wheel settings saved OK but the Car setups simply will not save, I change it to 'Generic' but after that nothing is inputtable  Try 'Save' it asks to type a name for the file but it's not possible as nothing will 'type'.

Works for me no problem at all:confused:

How well does the tx500 work with this game :) thinking of getting that wheel but want to check where it will shine !

Works great from what I hear, its possibly the best wheel you can have for AC.

If you mean the t500rs then it works brilliantly. I'm chuffed to bits with mine. I did google tx500 in case I was missing something but I couldn't find an alternative? I only have a fanatec 911 turbo s and g27 to compare it to but I think the t500rs comes out on top of those as a package and a standalone wheel.

I just got a g27 for £150 from the indian food store, and I'm REALLY enjoying this game with it. The wheel is good, the pedals are good, and I've figured out the cable management, which was my only gripe. I had a real blast driving the Zonda R around silverstone. It really is a totally different game to using the wheel. I even managed to get my gf playing it (started her on the fiat abarth which was funny).

Simply epic.

If I had kids, they'd probably be getting sold to finance one of these :D
Still, it's not as crazy expensive as it could have been. In fact, I think it's pretty well priced all things considered - even if I can't afford it.

I think it's a steal really, compared to other similar wheels it's half the price.

It's only twice the price of a Fanatec CSW base V2 and a decent rim.
