Edit: Car looks gorgeous, but the physics are in alpha stage at best. Avoid for now :(

You love to punish yourself with 'orrible 'andlin cars don't you? :p

Just kidding. One of our league guys has recently got me enjoying some of the old school and non-race stuff, and they can be quite fun once you get used to what they can't do :)

Some very interesting FFB traits with some of them too.

So much so, that I'm looking for a RL trackdays car now - and no, it won't be a GT3 :p But yeah, love street cars in AC, pretty much all of them :)

Well, after my recent 'breaking in' so to speak with some of the old street cars, I think I may just have to delve back in to some of the ones I hated before.

I always understood how it could be satisfying to 'coax' a car round a track, rather than go balls out with good grip and great brakes, it's just that it never really appealed to me.

I also get how a GT3 would feel like it's absolutely on rails and perhaps a bit boring if your preference is for street cars and oldies.
And yeah, we race GT3's a bit too often over at our league. reason being is that it helps keep numbers up, as it's what appeals to the majority...

True :D I treat them as the fantasy thing that I'll never drive, so I have no choice but to enjoy them in a sim.
Plus, I'm a lazy driver :p

The guy from our site that I mentioned earlier is currently restoring an Alfa GTA of sorts (I forget the specifics), so his love for those kind of cars in AC is perfectly understandable too.
He's not a big fan of the GT3's either :D

My main problem with GT3s is that I cant and probably never will be able to drive them in real life. Where as FR, MR, and FF street cars could all be relevant to RL driving. If I had a GT3 in my garage (this one looks decent http://www.racedandrallied.com/race-cars-for-sale/mclaren-mp4-12c-gt3 :D), I'm sure I'd sing a different tune :)

Could certainly come close. Get yourself over to Palmer Motorsport for a track day.

Anyway. Back on Topic... Have just purchased and installed Assetto Corsa. Just loading it up now.

Hope it looks goon on my PC lol

Right its looking pretty rough. This is my PC's current spec. Any recommendations on how best to upgrade it?

Get a cheapo GFX second hand card like GTX670 or 680 for £80 - this should do it for now, thats how I play and you can see my screenshots on the previous page. Basically its good for mid-high settings. No need to splash out on a new card atm as the new batch are only a couple of months away. Or, if money's no object just get a 970 or something now :)

BTW AC will be out on consoles as well, not sure about ETA though. But PC version is the one to have anyway- for better graphics and loads of mods.

Will look those up.

Thanks

DAIR: My GTX660 I used to have coped well with AC on mostly high settings at 1920x1200 so if you can grab a 670/680 you should be in a good spot. I've got a slower CPU than you too.

The car is easy to drive but with doing so it becomes very easy to over drive it as it will wheel spin in 1,2 and 3rd with almost no power applied. The noise tho makes it one of the best sounding cars in the game.

Think I may go for one of the newer models.

It'll have to wait though as my T500 is currently out of action.

Yeh definitely go newer if you can :) I went from a GTX660 to a GTX970 and I've gone from mostly high settings to maxed out running perfectly. Was awesome!
