That's odd. Sounds like you have it set up right, unless there are other settings in the Logitech profiler that need changing.
ED: ^Yep, that (or 'spring' should be disabled if you're a Thrustmaster user).

@Dg
Just in case you haven't clicked on this when it's been posted previously, check out the road tracks here http://assettocorsa.club/en/tracks.html
Some very cool (and long!) point to point stuff available.

I had no idea what RSR was till I looked it up.. I'll have to grab that, see how well, or poorly I am doing

I can just about beat the AI at 90% but anymore and I struggle truth told, I'm not the quickest..

I've just picked up a new wheel, replaced my age old second hand Logitech DFGT with a newer model, a Logitech G29. And since doing that my laptimes have plummeted. I can't seem to get the degrees of rotation correct ?

I have it set to 900 in the profile, and 900 in game, but track like Monza for example the first corner and the steering is really hard for to turn the car in, I'm having to turn the wheel way to far for my liking..

Anyhow, sure I'll get the new wheel settled in. I also need to really get a stand as well .. Man its all cost lol

G29 here too - same problem. At the start of the Nords tourist I cant turn towards the start without hitting the building opposite! Dot know what's going on! Wheel feel a bit "sloppy" around the centre too?

make sure you havent got centering on.

Oh erm ok I haven't seen that setting before, I am at work at the moment but where is that setting in game and I'll give it a go tonight, seems I might not be the only one with the issue.

I did notice with Project Cars the wheel worked flawless compared to AC, first time since using a wheel project cars won out.. So I did figure it must be an in-game setting I've got wrong.

Yes, it does feel sloppy - as mentioned I also tried project cars and that ran flawless.

So it must be AC and an in game setting I've got wrong.. I can make it around the track, but the hairpin or slow corners are not easy to navigate around, and I'm having to turn the wheel too much to make it comfortable to play.

It's in your Logitech profiler :)

There must be something pretty wrong if pCars feels better :p

That is 100% what I thought..

You know, I only just got the wheel, so I'm still finding my way around it. Nice wheel, nice to get a decent shift stick and clutch as well. Or you can use flappy paddles.. : - )

I'll go look at my logitech settings tonight, sure once I get it set correctly AC will be good again : - )

I've got G29 as well, very good wheel, fantastic pedals, everything's working great in AC.
Here are my settings, make sure you run the "Start Configuration Wizard" button in AC control settings, it needs to be done once.

Also, dont worry if you're slow compared to your DFGT or even G27, as G29 has a very stiff brake pedal that will take a bit of time to get used to. It simulates racing car pedal, so once you do get used to modulating brakes with pressure as opposed to pedal travel distance, everything will click and you'll be faster than ever :)

Here is my video of duelling the 98% difficulty AI as well for a good measure. AI is much, MUCH better in current v1.7.

I love how it can now overtake on the outside of the turn, on the inside, on the exit, on the brakes, how the AI holds its ground midcorner, how it is fair with giving you room (eg @ 3:21), but not so much room that its own racing lines are ruined.

Ah cheers mate.

I'll get cracking on setting this wheel up later when I get home.. Fantastic, thank you..

I'll let you know how I get on..

Agreed about pedals, much better IMO. Did find I had to press the brake pedal a LOT harder to stop.

You''d never get away with this in project cars, project cars has the worse AI I've ever seen in any racing game after you sample AC AI. I thought project cars was a decent game, but not any more.

I think the Levante gearbox has a bug as you can't go along in high gears at low speeds as it seems to act a bit like clutch slip. Apart from that, the new cars are all very enjoyable.

Love blasting around the Hungaroring in 90s DTM races. The 190E is just fanstastic and the AI makes for some really good racing. Up the inside forcing you out, covering, pulling back from you overtaking to get a shot at you in the next corner.

G27 brake pedal is stiff here. Not sure how stiff is too stiff but it gets annoying.
G29 is much stiffer still (I had g27 myself), it basically only has 2-3cm of travel and from then on you press on an almost non-moving pedal. The harder you press, the stronger the braking force. RL race cars are like that too (well, some need 60kg+ of foot pressure, obviously g29 is nowhere near that).

PS I should add that this design is not as silly as it may seem, our brain/memory is much better with pressures than with distances. So modulating 90% or 70% braking is much more natural and precise with te pressure type pedal vs the "travelling" one. Not to say that G27 is bad of course, its pedals are very nice too, they simply simulate street car brake pedal instead, but could also be modded into race/g29 type quite easily http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/595-NIXIM-Brake-mod

G29 here, no issues like that. Few things I found out:

In the G29 profiler thing, go to axis properties, turn sensitivity to 100%, wheel operating range is 900, and make sure the next box is unticked.

In game, this is what I have if it helps. I read keeping the wheel rotation at 40 degrees in game is better than setting it to 900, think I read it relies on the Logitech profile first and foremost.

What you're describing is a load cell.
The G29 brake is potentiometer based, with a rubber block that emulates the feel of what a load cell or real car might do. It still operates based on the distance travel, not force though :)

Yeah, I know, but the last few mm of travel do not feel like travel. It feels like pure pressure :) Mechanics/sensors of the pedal are still distance based, yep.

Yeah, just being slightly pedantic :)
Sounds like it does a decent job of emulating it.

I imagine it's quite a learning curve/system shock if you're coming from DFGT pedals.

Yes it is, its like going from a toy (no offence to DFGT owners as it was a great wheel IMO) to a set of pedals like in my car... I've had to re-learn clutch biting points just to get my car off the grid otherwise it would stall to pressing down much harder on the brakes when approaching corners, but also I have found I can feather the brakes when approaching other cars, so its going to take some adjustments, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it..

I have also noticed you can brake much later, but then cause I can't turn into the corner correctly yet, as despite slowing down, I can't hit the apex correctly lol

TonyTurbo78 - cool another set of settings to try, many thanks.. I'll get cracking tonight.

All in all, having a blast either way, doesn't matter I'm slower at the moment, its still bloody good fun.

I was coming from G27 and could not drive at all - couldn't brake, couldn't heel-toe... Going back is easy though, i mean from pressure pedal back to the distance one. Much prefer the former now though, pressure is better period :)

Yeah, I used to have a DFGT before I took a break from sim racing and then came back to it with Clubsport pedals.
It definitely took a fair bit of relearning, but I suppose it wasn't as bad as if I'd had no break and done a straight swap.

Getting used to virtually stamping on it with a bit of modulation, rather than gently pressing (or knowing how far to gently press) to avoid a lockup takes a little while to acclimate to.
