Assetto Corsa

Have they done something to nerf unofficial VR support? I was running my HTC vive with this only yesterday, there seemed to be a small patch and now it doesnt work at all (works with everything else).........

I'm exaggerating, but my general point is valid - AC is a simulator that is used by CSAI official italian racing school (with eg F1's Daniil Kvyat having graduated from there), Ferrari and Porsche. There are also many amateur track day drivers who vouch for its realism. pCars has only paid endorsements from Rene Rast and former Stig on its realism "credentials".

AC, iRacing, rFactor2 ( in no particular order; plus also LiveForSpeed, nkPro, RichardBurnsRally, Reiza's GSC) = simulated trackday experience. Forza, pCars, Codemasters F1 etc etc are also an experience, but of a different kind.

Project Cars is a definite step ahead of Forza Motorsport and especially Codemaster's games(barring Dirt Rally) in terms of driving model/physics. Even lumping Forza Motorsport and Codemasters' games together shows you're being way too '1%' about this.

And jesus, Live for Speed ahead of Project Cars?

I dont get it. I really don't. I feel like some people see the higher presentation levels of PCars, more structured experience, and the fact that it's on consoles and just make sweeping judgements without really having spent much time with it to judge properly.

Or maybe have forgotten what games like Forza Motorsport and Codies F1 games are actually like to play....

across 3 car packs, coming September.

Which hairbrained twerp thought that one up at Kunos.
 
It's too much to put in one pack, so it makes sense to spread it over three.

Depending on how they divide them up, it may also make it easier/cheaper for those that only want certain cars or types of car.

The one that realized that they wouldn't be able to release anything for quite a while if they wanted to put them all out at once. They put a whole lot of effort into each and every car and from what it sounds like, that's a big reason Porsche came to Kunos to do their cars. To get them *right*. That'll take time.

There'll be an upfront discount price for those who definitely want all the cars, it's just the release schedule will be staggered.

Plus there might be a certain pack somebody wants, but isn't interested in the others, and so they can pick and choose and get *something* rather than nothing because they dont want *all* the cars.

Seems like a pretty sensible way to do things, if you ask me.

So next it will be 48 Messerschmitt KR200 models over 10 packs over 6months, making it easier/cheaper for those that only want certain cars or types of car.

Come on uncle petey but 24 Porsche models maybe another 6 or so..
 
Not sure what the problem is with the amount of cars tbh mate.
Porsche have quite a history.

It's not like 20 minute variations of a Nissan Skyline like in Gran Turismo :D

Also, they're going to want to maximise the opportunity with the 'exclusive' deal and get their investment back with extra cream.

We've waited YEARS AND YEARS for someone to do something useful with the Porsche license. Now that a company with a good track record is, you're complaining about it?

It really is difficult to please everyone.

Yes Porsche design and build good cars.

Wouldn't of minded but all in one hit.

God there will be a lot of sore wrists in the morning.
 
I'll take 24 Porsches over 24 slightly different Lotus Elise every day of the week!

Hope we get a nice range of race cars and road cars :)
 
How is VR enabled now? I have a DK2. Do I need to edit any files, settings or what not?

Got it, but can't center my view..
