Assetto Corsa

thanks Borsch - changed the default record quality from High to Ultra and dramatically increased "MB" space for recordings and seems much better now

not sure if it was a particular track/car combo before, or these above settings but does seem much improved now - thanks

so take it back :)

That GIF is much more like it. Love watching close action from races, seeing cars squirming under braking, catching the grass, etc.

just had an hour or so blast - and prob one of my favourite driving games in an absolute age

just plays and looks fantastic - tempted with additional DLC now

Had this for years and only just got it going on my new rig so it plays properly. Super impressed with the driving and authenticity! I can even handle the 79 Lotus F1 on full turbo around Spa.

Shame I never got any DLC. Adds up to a lot now :(

Mods have my interest. Specifically addign my own cars. I used to 3D model back in the day for GTA III/Vice City and SA. Would love to make something for AC. Any cool suggestions?

Best mods for me are the Audi 90 GTO, Brabham BT44, McLaren P1 GTR, Porsche 996 RSR and the current WTCC cars. URD premium mods are also great quality, but you can get decent mods out there the same - although not like the Prototypes - or the official DLC.

pre ww2 racing car?

Oh yes please! The 1966 Monza layout is epic when doing it in a 250F so I can only imagine how **** scary it must have been to blast old Bentley's and Auto Unions around pre-WW2. I had mis-read your post earlier on, although I recommend checking those mods out as they add a good quality car to your collection on there.

I did a lap of the Nordschleife earlier using the Praga R1, which is epic fun until I mess my braking up. Anyone who fancies an easy challenge, here's some lap times to beat:

Nordschleife: 7:13.502
Red Bull Ring: 1:37.518
Nurburgring GP (GT): 2:06.496

And after recent talk about replay quality, I've uploaded a pair of videos to Youtube. I used ShadowPlay to record it (on the highest quality) and uploaded it directly... which unfortunately has it looking utter ****. Sounds okay though.

Just noticed my delta and tyres temps are frozen throughout the replays from when I crossed the line. :D

We're having another couple of open events this weekend, as it's a break between series.
You don't have to sign up or anything for these.

On Saturday, we have Mazda MX-5 Cup cars running at Laguna Seca, since there's a real life event there with the same cars this weekend :)

  • This will be a 2x18 lap sprint race format, with a reverse grid in race 2.
  • Official practice: 8pm BST
  • Qualifying: 8:20pm
  • Race: 8:35pm
  • TeamSpeak Server: 151.80.230.238:10080
  • Search 'SDG' to find the practice/race server, which is up now

It's a shame more of you didn't come along for the oval racing in the formula lights last time, as it was a hell of a lot of fun. Ask RevBillyG or Oldphart :D

You have a second chance this weekend, as we're probably going to do it again. This time, it may not be quite as stressful with the twitchy cars, as we're going to use the Dallara Corvette Daytona Prototype instead. Still fast, but not as mental :D
We'll likely have a blast in them after the MX-5 event and you can download the track HERE.
The Helicorsa app is pretty much essential, so grab that too.

Here's a bit of action from the last outing in the formula lights + me testing the Dallara vs 32 AI (they're a little slow even at 100%):

This is guaranteed good time action and as you can see, it would be epic with a decent size crowd on there ;) There are 40 slots on that track, so come along and help fill them up!
