Assetto Corsa

I'd been wondering the same thing. The fact that I could actually go and buy Assetto Corsa is working in it's favour massively! I'm baffled by pCars having to stop memberships, had a mate explain that it's due to it's crowd funded nature. But that makes no sense to me considering Kickstarter and all the other Indy games around at the moment!

Assetto does look very pretty, with the F40 calling out to me too.. Gonna have to take a look at the car and track list :)
Many playing it with a Logitech G25?

I have both pCars and this. It's not really a fair comparison at the moment because AC is "more complete". There's certainly a lot less content in AC but ... that's a good thing! Also, not having AI or on-line at the moment is a good thing ... for me. I've bought a few sims over the years and this is the first one that's actually got me interested in really learning how to drive more effectively, learn the cars and learn the tracks. The current limitations are helping me to focus on getting better, rather than being distracted with too much content. I was actually motivated to learn how to heal and toe!

To focus on my view (other people will undoubtedly have different opinions), the force feedback is excellent - the tire model really delivers. The graphics are excellent with a natural colour palette being used (pCars has more complex environments but is less optimised and I seen to struggle with getting decent AA settings along with a decent frame rate). The sound is not quite up to the mark yet imho. There are also a number of 3rd party apps which are useful including an on-line leaderboard (I'd rather not divulge my position on those) and a Motec display outputting to my mobile device.

In summary, I occasionally dip into pCars (and have done since I signed up to the alpha) but it has never really excited me the way AC does. pCars does have a long way to go and has improved noticeably of late and I do really hope it will deliver; I have faith that it will be a fun sim when finished.

I use a G25 wheel in a custom built cockpit and am having a blast. I'm so enthusiastic about it, I've just forked out on a 29 inch ultrawide monitor and have a shopping list of components that's coming in at around £2500 - that's what it means to me.

Thanks for summing that up ThereIs0nly0ne I appreciate it :)

Think im going to dip in and get this then sure I can cope with 2 racing sims

Id love to see your setup, very nice:)

I finally purchased this on the steam sale but having problems getting the wheel to work as I'd like it.

Has anyone got a good setup setting (profiler and in game) for a Logitech G27 ?

Thanks :)

No problem, glad to help!

A few (old) pictures of my cockpit. There's a screen attached to it now, just behind the wheel.

I'm currently designing a new build - it will be much more professional looking and match the styling on my arcade cab (shameless posting of my custom built arcade cab):

The sound of the new Ferrari's is amazing but are quite a handful. Really must get my wheel out and try it as I'm currently using xbox pad and don't like the settings that much.

Fine tuning settings is often a matter of personal taste so it's worth messing about a bit. You may have already looked but there's a thread over on the official forums:

Also, have a look here:

anyone using an Xbox pad on this (shameful i know lol)

these settings seem to be working lovely for me with the updated physics etc in the recent updates

Gamma 3
Filter 0.95
Speed Sen. 0.1
Deadzone 0.3

posted up on Steam forums, so thought i should share the love :)

These settings work well for me. Make sure to target acs.exe not assettocorsa.exe in Logitech profiler.

Thanks for that mate but I still can't get this configured properly.

Basically my problem is that a 90deg turn on the wheel is a 360 in game.

I've used the setup wizard in the game and on that it seems to be set correctly but actually playing the game is completely different :(

It's probably something I'm doing wrong but it's annoying me now..

I've set up the global game settings rather than specific game settings in the Logitec Profiler- there was an issue I seem to recall with AC only accepting those.

I have a G25 and use the in-game presets. There's a couple for the G27 also. Try those if you haven't already.

I get this issue randomly in iracing on a Logitech, I found a solution online that recommended changing USB port - works for me!

I like the handling and sound so far, so this could be my driving game. I don't play many driving games, so happy to have just one to kick back to on occasion.

Those G27 settings any good for Driving Force GT?

Never used the wheel on my PC before so new to all these settings.

This is from Mariusz on the AC forums:

"Alright, I came up with those settings for my Driving Force GT.
Logitech Profiler: 100/0/100 - Centering 0 - Degrees 900
In game: Gain: 70%, Filter: 0, Damping: 0.10-0.20

As someone mentioned earlier, you need to set 100% Damper in Logitech Profiler to get working Damping in game.
With that settings I get nice, detailed FF without clipping. "

An updated for anyone who my have a similar spec PC/laptop to mine

My Specs are:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (6.01.7601)
DirectX: 9.0c + 10 + 10.1 + 11
CPU name: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9000 @ 2.00GHz
CPU speed: 1995MHz
Memory: 4063MB
Screen size: 1600x900 (32bits)
Video card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650, 1024MB

At first was running the game at 1600x900 and it was a little sluggish but playable, just. (absolute low setting no AA or HDR)

Dropped the resolution down to 1280x720 with AA x 4, AF x 4 and HDR lighting on, shadows are on the lowest setting. for some reason it plays in a windowed screen even though full screen is selected, but I am getting 40-50fps.

As for the game, I am enjoying it so far. Like mentioned earlier in the thread the handling is reminiscent of a game called "Sport Car GT" from well over 10 years ago, if remember correctly, maybe even longer.

Yep do this. I just loaded up the G27 preset, tweaked a few of the ffb sliders (kerb effects is way too strong by default) and saved it as a custom preset.

If the wheel is turning to sharply it could be due to an assist. When I set realism level to Gamer for my nephew to try, the steering was like this but was fine when I switched it back to Pro.

Thanks! I'll have a play in a bit.

The force feedback in this game is incredible!
