Assetto Corsa

So how is everyone getting on with the special events? I was pretty proud of myself to get the F40 one. Some of them are pretty straight forward and other ones are literally impossible. How anyone can get close to the Monza one with the BMW is beyond me. I'm sure they must have made a mistake with the times.

I can't do the drag races for toffee.

Thanks for the links.. just about to check both sites out, Before I even consider one I need to sell my drum kit which takes up the spare room what I never play on these days

you're welcome.

anyway take your time before making a decision.

I would recommend a rig that is modular (you can add stuff over time like gear shifter, keyboard etc..) without a center post. set a budget you are comfortable with (it's easy to get carried away ;)) then make a shortlist of potential rigs that appeal to you and check out user reviews for pro/con.

Also note that some rigs may be made in a country far away and may cost a lot to ship

Really fancy getting myself a new wheel when this is closer to completion.

Just put in a 1.49:1 around Mugello in the Formula Abarth. Holding onto your momentum is key around there!

I can definitely go quicker..

How much fuel were you running? I've managed a 1:50.2 so far, with a mostly stock setup (just changed the diff settings). Need to put more practice into getting Casanova and Correntaio right, I feel like I'm losing a good bit of time through those. I absolutely love Mugello and even more so in this game. It's such a good track. I'm hoping they do Bathurst at some point, then it would be perfect! :D

These XBOX controller settings were posted on the Steam forums by Mirok-jc - they seem to be getting good feedback. I use a wheel so haven't tried:

gamma: 2.5
Filter: 0.75
Speed sensitivity: 0.15 ( depends the car you drive, i switch between 0.1 and 0.15)
Deadzone: 0.2

This was getting some pretty harsh and rabid feedback on the above link and also on the Steam forum. The Steam thread and the main page feedback has been removed already.

I feel really sorry for Kunos tbh. I'd wager that most of the negativity was from people who haven't been around the simracing community for long and just want everything for free.

I'm really looking forward to the new content and am happy to wait.

I couldn't help but feel a bit let down by this announcement tbh... was expecting something more to enjoy over the xmas period. Not something we have to wait nearly a year for :(

Never been that fussed about it.

I think it's too long a track to have decent races at unless everyone on track at the time is of almost equal ability.

You also have to bear in mind just how small the development team is on this game and how limited their budget is by catering to what is essentially a very small market.

Iracing is probably the most popular online PC sim and as of now, during a holiday, there are only 2400 racers online and not all of those are actually racing.

When I fired up pCARS the other day, there wasn't anyone playing online at all and most of the time now there are just a handful of lobbys.

pCARS static user base, with it not open it's always going to be this way.

Large tracks suck, practice/qualifying takes forever and after a couple of turns half the field has left and your on your own.

Yeh, the ring isn't too great for actual races. Nearly always end up with an accident as you either end up stuck behind someone or hold someone up - very narrow and hard to overtake.

However it's by far the track I've driven most in all the other games I've played, I just love hot lapping it. The track never becomes too familiar and is always a challenge :)
