Assetto Corsa

The stability assist can actually help with drifting, certainly on lower values. Accidently raced with it set to 5-10% whilst driving the Yellowbird a while back and it made me look like a drift god, wasn't at all getting caught out by how much it likes going backwards... Then I realised it was the assist... :(
A low value is just enough to give you some wiggle room and make it less prone to snapping.

Snapping happens when you let off the gas too early, or or just leave it off for too long. Weight shifts from back wheels to the counter steering front wheels, they grip and your car snaps in the direction of countersteer. Basically, get on the gas earlier and keep it on for longer, then the weight will remain on the back wheels and you'll be free to countersteer as much as you like with the front wheels as they wont grip too much.

Sounds awesome, that custom track sounds like it could be really enjoyable. The incoming cars should be sweet too, official 787B :D The hint that the British pack could have something new, Jaguar XJ220 please!!! The Ferrari pack is bound to be good too, hopefully will include things like the F50, 250GTO, Testarossa, Daytona, 355 and the 550 Maranello :D

Xmas hols, boring, so bought Asseto and dusted off my old G25. Just played the first 2 novice championships and wow, pretty damn good. Had to fiddle with the feedback settings etc till it felt more natural but i'm very impressed.

Same deal as you. The G25 is getting a new lease of life.

Well Impressed by the whole thing in general, but the amount of mods I'm finding is staggering. Massive effort seems to go with that. I still feel obliged to grab the dlc as I'm guessing a lot of online servers will require it?

The deal sealer for me was the talk that VR was better than in project cars.. very much so:)

Picked up everything. Normally I'm not a fan of dlc, but the model they have in allowing people to do as they wish, while throwing official downloads out there, I'll support that all day.

Not been since the days of GPL and Nascar 2003 have I played a racer all day, let alone in VR.. my head was buzzing. Last time I got that feeling of throwing a car in to a corner was playing a Sega triple screen F355, what a fantastic game.

After having some issues with connectivity to the timetrial server I hopped on a public Nordschleife track day server and grabbed basically the only available remaining car - a P1. Was expecting to find it utter chaos, with people crashing all over the place, blocking faster cars and just generally being dicked. Was completely surprised to see only one person be a dick and then leave the server, with everyone else driving cleanly and fairly, letting faster cars through!
Absolutely buzzing after driving the P1 at full pelt dealing with traffic, was making passes in spaces where I need every single horsepower under the hood! :D Well happy with a 6:32 with a bit of traffic.

I picked up the final DLCs that I didn't have in the Steam sale.

Bought AC some time ago but never really played it. Last week I bought a G29 so thought it was time to make use of it. Been on it most of this afternoon, mostly in a Tatuus Formula Abarth at Imola. I've improved a lot, but not managing to break the 1.50 barrier with my best time being 1.50:040. Any tips at all? I've downloaded a couple of different setups which have helped, and watched some videos, I find I just can't seem to carry the speed through the corners like others do, and usually encounter a load of understeer.

I find that a lot of public server which I join are like that most of the time, its a refreshing change and so enjoyable especially when there is a nice and realistic mix of cars on the track.
