Assetto Corsa

had a race of this today few cars quite impressed

handlings not perfect but its not as bad as project cars. lots of features and tracks and cars already. so pretty impressed .

so out of project cars and this id go assetto at the moment. if cars can fix its handling and pysics then it will be a close call between both.

Been following this thread, and after coming from the Forza series, I do like the game, but it seems odd that they charge so much for a game far from completion. It just feels like a demo from what Im reading here.

Pulled the trigger and currently downloading on Steam. Really really hyped for this! Does it have additional cars/tracks/steam workshop or are they given in updates?

pCARS is very dependent on which car you drive.

The McLaren MP4 12-C GT3 is as good as the one in iRacing.

Everything is installed automatically via steam.

One little hint! To get the best graphics out of this you need to disable "motion blur", set cubemaps to low, faces to 3 (everything else -max, althoug I have AA 4, AF 8), and if you have an nvidia card, use inspector to set 2x sparse grid supersampling (!!! most important)

Instead of dominating white jaggies you'll get sharp yet creamy smooth picture (running at 90fps for me):

Merry Xmas! :)

So what did paying for this get me?

Just seen mention of paid dlc in September. Not sure I'd be happy getting charged for more dlc if they don't have a complete game by then.

At least with Starforge I know I bought in knowing I will get discount on release - if it gets good and am happy paying for it.

But I also paid a fair bit less for that. With this game, I have no idea what I'm getting out of paying what I did.

I have mine set on 4 x sparse grid supersampling.

I found it makes the shadows on Monza look better as well.

Turn off HDR as well.

It's fair point but one that is being a fair amount of flack in the social media. By the sound of it the game is incredible for what it does do but I'm waiting for some actual content in the form of ai and MP before I buy, I'm not convinced they will pull that one off.

Anyone with a G25 G27 got there setting they can screenshot and share. Spent a few hours just splaying with wheel finally got something that doesn't feel horrid.

I've not got something that feels right though.. Anyone help

Cheers bud, how you finding this ? My Iracing sub ran and and I havent got enough time out the last two I got so shelfing it for a bit, hope this gets multiplayer soon. Impressed with the small amount Ive played. Doesnt handle to bad on the pad either which is a bonus.

I really like it.

But I'm the same, not enough time to put into anything really. So just play what I feel like when I get time. The RUF in iRacing is superb though, so I have actually done a few races with it while there's no damage to SR.

The RUF in iRacing is superb though
I tried it for the first time yesterday and although it sounds lovely and handles more satisfyingly (with a G27) than most of the iRacing cars, I must admit that while I try to be broad minded and enjoy all sims, AC is kind of spoiling me. There's something about the handling of all the cars which just grabs me by the goolies and drags me round the track with a smile on my face.

I need to put some more time into the RUF, because it's be nice to do a race or two while it's in Fun mode, but the AC 599XX keeps calling. Now I've put it on hard tyres, mobilising the back end a little more and livening up the ride, I'm having a blast... though the Radiator Springs live timing app insists I am as horribly slow as I've ever been in any sim.

I keep telling myself that all those folk higher up the leader boards are using aids, explaining the embarrassing margin. :-)

It's nice to be spoiled for choice though. I haven't even had chance to try the latest build of rF2 yet!

I'm less than 2 tenths off the gold time for the 599XX, every time I'm up on my best time I push a little too hard and make a mistake.

I've no idea how I compare to the rest of the AC players, but in iRacing I average 2-6 seconds off what ever the world record is, depending on how much I've practiced the car and track combo.
