Assetto Corsa

Thanks for the replies..

Been looking at the Logitech DFGT but was put off with the buttons as opposed to paddles at rear..how do you find gear changing?

The durability was a factor in swaying towards the f430 wheel, how is the build quality on it?

They are more than buttons they are paddles of sorts not like a g25/27 though, the gear lever is nice for changing gears too.

Build quality is great as far as i'm concerned, I've never used the f430 wheel but I can't imagine its as good at the DFGT the 900 degree's is great in Asseto Corsa.

Anyone running this game with the older Logitech DFP?

Lots of people including me are using the DFGT and its not a lot different to the dfp, I ran a dfp for ages it'll be great with Assetto Corsa.

I have DFP, and would choose a second hand (£30 on ebay?) DFP (=DFGT) over any Speedlink wheel any time. DFP/DFGT have optical sensors in the wheel which means the wheel will stay very precise after months and years of racing. +very decent (albeit slow compared to G27 and of course T500) FF. F430 is good but only 270 degrees, DFP/DFGT are 900 deg.

For racing proper, DFGT=DFP are plenty good enough imo, but for drifting proper even G27 is too slow with its FF, need T500rs. If FF is too slow you need to do all the wheel turning yourself.

Drifting with T500 wheel

Drifting in real life- see how quickly the wheel spins itself (1:04)

just got this in the steam sale as i cant get on to project cars yet.
havent had time to try it yet but it looks good. need to set up my G27 and give it a blast. missing forza as i got a PS4 instead of an xbone.

Thats a nice setup.

Whats the vertical monitors that match the horizontal one so well.

OLED might advance that cause as I think it can do borderless far easier & saw a curved tv advertised the other day

Yeah I've been looking at getting the T500 for a while now but its pricey. They catch you out by selling the shifter separately.

It is. Just a pity his FOV is close to double what it should really be if he's trying to get a realistic viewpoint.

From the youtube vid description :

"The screens are: Dell 2007FP / Dell U3011 / Dell 2007FP in portrait-landscape-portrait orientation.
Resolution is 4960x1600 in desktop, 5336x1600 with bezel compensation in games using SoftTH."

It's very pricey but I would say it is worth it as I love mine. I'm not really sure what is going on with OCUK's price though as I get mine from here in November for £330.

yeah especially if drifting as well I hear its the best all round, was that price with the shifter aswell?

Got my wheel. Will have to get in touch with them to see if I can get better support as it doesn't allow me to use d-pad currently, and thinks multiple buttons are same button...

However, after my initial tinkering with setup and sensitivity, already so much nicer than a pad.

The pedals are small and disappointing, but I do like the wheel itself. For £50, it will do

It's a shame you couldn't stretch to a proper force feedback wheel as it makes such a big difference. Still, don't want to put a dampener on your purchase, as long as you like it :D It's a step up from a pad. If you end up liking it lots you could always upgrade.

If I could have found one south of £100, I would have done so.

Used to have an old MS force feedback wheel, but for a long time I didn't touch racers and so got rid :(

Did the same with a joystick I used to like - wasn't playing anything to use it for some time, so dumped it :(

Lesson learned - sometimes things gather dust. Just let them gather it.

Oh well, at least this wheel vibrates :D

Still, hope I can get the button stuff sorted.

I've seen a few YT vids about the gear noise on the dfgt, g25 and g27.

I only use my PC at night when kids are asleep, and the whole house is quiet.
Is the DFGT really that noisy when the wheel turns.
